bad taste
i understand the concept of familiar branding…
but c’mon jim beam and jack daniels?
jim beam is laker quality at best!
at least try to associate the Spurs with Booker’s or Baker’s bourbon for top shelf recognition.
Booker's is the damaja
that’s the highest proof bourbon, Booker’s, Man I love that stuff, but it makes me go on raaaaaammmmmppppaggggges.
it should be a Booker’s bottle. absolutely.
high quality, high proof.

Well, this is what you get for having a non-drinker like me in charge of the site.
transgojobot did such an excellent job on the image that I don’t know that I want to ask him do it all over again in order to have it on a different bottle, even if it IS the higest proof bourbon.
I mean, look at the attention to detail. He included the Alamo, the four trophies, Pop’s signature, and the Manu percentage. He even replaced “Sour Mash” with “Four Down” – I mean, this thing looks great; otstanding even.

I didn’t even notice all of the excellent little details at first. He did a fantastic job, so Rec for that. You, on the other hand, earn a Nega-Rec for going an entire podcast without mentioning the Coach B videos, so in the end you get… nothing.
by DrumsInTheDeep on Feb 16, 2011 1:21 PM CST up reply actions
Anytime there’s a nega-rec, I second it. Regardless of substance… in fact, I don’t even read onward to find out why. I just immediately agree.

Let’s test that.
You, SiMA, get a nega-rec for being too lazy to read a comment all the way through before you agree with it.
Pop does NOT have special bonding exercises for the team on the Rodeo Road Trip.
You can’t give nega-recs. The origin himself of a newly established social phenomenon can’t try to swing attention away from his original blunder by hoping on the bandwagon that he inadvertently formed; it’s just stupid.
Thinking that you can however, is nega-reccable.

Oh I can't, can I?
SiMA, the days when you could tell me what I can and can’t do on PtR are long gone. But thanks for the nice little stroll down memory lane all the same.
Now, I’m doing another thing that “I can’t do.” I’m bringing back the subject field for those who can use it properly: FOR ACTUAL SUBJECTS.
Whatcha think about that?

I’m not sure this is the best time to do something as radical as using the subject field. There seems to be a revolutionary fervor going around the world. You’re playing with fire, JRW.
Don't embarrass me in front of myself.
Fighting fire with fire
I’m defusing a potential revolution by being revolutionary myself.

Unless you want your SF priveleges revoked, please don’t use the subject field for your entire message.

I’d have hoped that it was ALREADY instilled, but at least it’s there now.

I’ll start carrying around the giant head poster of Dice. Not sure if they’ll let me take it back into the locker room though.

Making it is no prob (working for a mapping company) I just need an incredibly high resolution image of Dice’s face.

Next game, make one that references the fact that we realize he’s on the fence… and want him to fall off onto the ‘stay for another year’ side.

ARgh can’t load it at work, it will have to wait until I get home tonight. 3/5 of the season gone? I know the ASG always comes after the midway mark but this time they really took it far. Most times is around the 50 game mark.
Won’t THIS work for you?
Pop does NOT have special bonding exercises for the team on the Rodeo Road Trip.
I think the third fifth of the season has been (Borat voice) GREAT SUCCESS! We’re not just coming up with lucky wins and taking advantage, we’ve moved to the top of adjusted-efficiency rankings like SRS. We’re dominating, just not in a way that’s gonna get a lot of press.

Excellent conversation as usual, gents – especially the last 5 minutes or so.
I wholeheartedly agree with SiMA’s idea to let McDyess know we want him back…good on “the sign ladies” for gettin’ it started:) #ICE4DYESS and GSG!!!!!

Even though neglecting to use the oxford comma makes me die a little inside every time.

i had to look up what the oxford comma was, as i’d never heard the expression. and it turns out in british english its a rarity to use it (i remember being taught explicitly NOT to put it there).

It can be useful in certain situations; however, I am not a proponent of using it all the time. Of course, you know this, considering we’ve already had a lengthy discussion about the use of this particular punctuation.
