Well, I thought we were speaking of amore’ and how the entrance to that part life has changed over the years, but - I guess that you mentally adjust to it (aging) gradually. I’m not sure when I resigned to it. The only advice I’d give is to stay as physically healthy as you can, but don’t expect to live forever – duh. I could have done a lot better, but I could still kick that guy on the escalator down there’s ass. He looks 10 years older than me though…

Sure, we did. I am sorry for changing the subject, but as I said I don’t know much about these changes. I had an impression that sex has become safer and easier, but I am not sure whether this is a good or bad thing. Thank you for your advice. It’s not like I expect to live forever, more like I hate my life a little bit more day by day, year by year. I just don’t like the feeling.
"We just keep putting wins in the bag, kind of like picking strawberries." - RJ 2.0
General inability to make shots combined with Portland playing really good defense. Aldridge having an outlier type game. Mojo deficit. Allowing the crowd to go from “I hope we don’t get crushed” to “RAAAAWRRR” in the first quarter.
Asked before the game how Parker has looked, Popovich said, "He’s still cute. "

yeah
but sometimes the spurs Defense is focus on the rest of the team like
Kobe 30 Gasol 10, Odom 5, …something like that
Lakers up by 2 with 20 some seconds left. Kobe is being double teamed, and lamor odom, who has 20 rebounds, is asking for the ball like crazy. Kobe ignores him and shoots over the dble team. Miss. Houston down 2 with 11.8 seconds left. They got a chance now.
I love Kobe when he is like this :-).
Lauri: thank goodness I have you magnificent bastards to waste [the offseason] with.
me too. i just love watching the ego get bigger and bigger. but then sometimes it does work out for him (you know, cause he’s super good) and its depressing.
Honestly I think the days of it working out for him are over. They won the finals thanks to Pau, not Kobe, whatever that “MVP” award said.
Lauri: thank goodness I have you magnificent bastards to waste [the offseason] with.
i definitely agree with your statement about the finals. he’s still going to have some more game winners though
He will have many more game winners if he plays within the offense and takes what the D gives him. He will have very few if he keeps forcing up tough shots.

Rockets give Lakers trouble because they out-work them. They have not had more talent for many seasons but always push them to the limit due to effort. If you have equal talent and put in the work, as Boston did on Sunday, you will kick the overrated Lakers’ ass. I’m looking forward to Thursday.

They are not overrated. They really do have great talent. Chemistry issues are holding them back right now, but if they get it together they can still beat anyone. Here’s to Kobe being a dickwad for the rest of the season and beyond :-).
Lauri: thank goodness I have you magnificent bastards to waste [the offseason] with.
My definition of overrate means they are not an all-time great, 65-win team as they are currently treated by many. A top-3 West team? Yes. Top-6 in the NBA? Sure. To be feared more than other teams? No.

they’ve won two championships in a row. I think they’re better than top 6 in the league. Do you really fear the Bulls, Magic, Miami or Mavs more than them?
As a Spurs fan, I don’t fear any of them.

i didn’t realize it was a trick questions. You don’t fear them more because you are fearless. Excellent.
And because the Spurs are better. The only one on the list that gives me pause is Boston. Their team-wide clutchness and defense are not to be taken lightly.

I was more annoyed with the commentary than the loss. Team commentators are always going to be homers, but please, at least be consistent. Listening to them, you’d think the Blazers are entitled to have every whistle called in their favor.
We could have used another 3pt shooter tonight, who could actually sink some 3’s. I was hoping Pop would give &erson a chance when Gary was clearly off tonight. I hope he was just having an off night and not still being bothered by an injury.
Rest up. Plug some holes. Let’s get the next one.

Better than losing against an injury depleted team.
I did a lot of soul searching. I didn't find anything.
I don’t even consider Portland injury depleted any more. Their team is now who they are. Roy is not coming back. Oden was a poor draft choice. The only injury of note for this game was Camby, but we were missing Bonner. I’d happily have Camby be healthy if Matt was too.

Weird NBA night. Spurs lose because they can’t make shots. Celtic have to overcome double digit deficit to defeat Kings. Lakers need OT and one of the oddest FT box scores ever to beat the Rockets. If only the Wizards had finally won a road game.

They had 5 players with a positive +/ and we had 0.

-They scored 28 in the 4th and we scored 15.
-They played 48 mins. and we had 12 mins. of last year.
We shot 11. The Refs called 3 bs foul on them to bump our total up to 15, to make sure no one yelled donaghy.

just for fun, i looked up when the spurs lost their 8th game of various seasons. turns out this one isn’t the “latest” date they lost the 8th game of the season. it was 2/28/1999, when they dropped to 6-8. good they they are so much better this season.
their record for the rest of the season was 31-5, 46-7 if you count the playoffs.

When I need you to win……………..
OH well…. LMA with a CAREER NIGHT! I mean… it had to happen to someone give them some cred… that team don’t Quit!
"It's nice to feel good at 32. I don't feel old. I don't feel like this is getting harder. I feel like this is getting easier, if anything." Steve Nash

LMA is having a career year. This just happened to be his best game this year (and going forward).

What is Aldrige career high? He is going to surpass that

I hate to see the future
"Kevin Garnett once described defending Tim Duncan as "trying to guard a tree"
Are you saying we lost the game because of you?
"We just keep putting wins in the bag, kind of like picking strawberries." - RJ 2.0
I believe he is. Lets pin the loss on him.
[ "Duncan, the Spurs' 34-year-old captain, was aghast when Splitter told him he used to watch him as a kid."]
"I didn't enjoy that at all," Duncan said
For as great as LMA was, even with less from him the Spurs still lose this game because they shot 43% and missed 8 FT out of 15 attempts. The rebounding ended up even which is an embarrassment considering how one-sided it was early. Just one of those nights that happened to coincide with an opponent having his career night.
- Thank you SF Giants for an incredible 2010 season and painting the City orange & black!
- I vow to never again mention "playoffs" and "49ers" together until we have a "quarterback."
- You gotta bring ass to get ass.
