Memphis’ Arthur feared out for season
The Memphis Commercial Appeal reported that athletic small forward Darrell Arthur left practice Sunday morning with what is feared to be a torn right Achilles. Team sources tell the newspaper that Arthur may miss the entire 2011-12 season.

That would be a surprisingly big loss for them. They don’t have the depth at that position anymore.
Will argue against trading #45 until I am blue in the face and your eyes and ears are bleeding.
They have some depth. It’s just Arthur was really dynamic and a pain in the butt when he’s on. Hamed Haddadi is planning to re-sign. Maybe that’s why they made sure he was inked because of this injury.

He’s a completely different type of player and doesn’t complement the others nearly as well.
Also, he’s not as talented. But they do have depth- I keep forgetting they are getting Gay back.

I never said he did the same things. I just meant size wise, they aren’t losing as much as say, the Spurs who lack so few “big/tall” men.

Having “depth” is useless if the players don’t fit your system well. They’ll have to play completely different with Haddadi than they would with Arthur. Of course, since they are both bench players, that won’t make a huge difference overall.

Well, Haddadi isn’t exactly a new player to the team. Obviously, they lose some of that athletic edge with Arthur and Battier gone, but it’s not like he won’t continue to fit in last years game plan.

Well, for starters, they play different positions. Arthur is a 3/4 and Haddadi is almost exclusively a Center, so yeah, he’ll fit in last year’s game plan, just not where Arthur did.

Ouch, that’s really unfortunate. I liked the energy he brought, just not against us. He showed a lot of promise.

Arthur is a beast and killed us in the playoffs. He’ll be missed by the Grizz.
