Euroleague Week 4 Schedule

Wednesday November 9, 2011

Galatasaray Medical Park Istanbul @ Union Olimpija Ljubljana - 7PM CET (12 Noon Spurs time)

Remember, Danny Green and Davis Bertans play for Ljubljana.

Unics Kazan @ Asseco Prokom Gdynia - 8:45PM CET (1:45PM Spurs time)

Former Spur Alonzo Gee plays for Asseco Prokom.  [Update: scratch that, he left the team.  h/t to Project Spurs]

KKZagreb @ Unicaja Malaga - 8:45PM CET (1:45PM Spurs time)

No particular players to watch here from a Spurs perspective, just another game that affects standings.

Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul @ Bizkaia Bilbao - 8:45PM CET (1:45PM Spurs time)

Former Spurs Curtis Jerrells and James Gist play for Ulker.

Olympiacos Piraeus Athens @ Bennet Cantu - 8:45PM CET (1:45PM Spurs time)

The guy we traded Scola for, Vasillis Spanoulis, is the point guard for Olympiacos.  They need a win to get out of last place in Group A.

Brose Baskets Bamberg @ Zalgiris Kaunas - 6:45PM CET (11:45AM Spurs time)

Spurs draft pick Robertas Javtokas plays for Kaunas, which desperately needs some wins to avoid an early exit.  Brose seems to win the German league every year

Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv @ Anadolu Efes Istanbul - 7:00PM CET (12 Noon Spurs time)

Tel Aviv's Jordan Farmar(of all people) won player of the week last week, but there's no Spurs players involved here.

EA7 Emporio Armani Milan @ Belgacom Spirou Charleroi - 8:30PM CET (1:30PM Spurs time)

Malik Hairston, Ioannis Bourousis and company are looking to break even on the season during this trip to Belgium.  Milan shelled out a lot of money this offseason for a better team, and so far they haven't really delivered.

Montepaschi Siena @ FC Regal Barcelona - 8:45PM CET (1:45 PM Spurs time)

This is the second biggest game of the week.  Both teams enter undefeated, but Barca has to be the favorites based on both point differential and their willingness to pay for a better team.  Spurs prospect Erazem Lorbek will be manning the 4 for Barca.

Real Madrid @ Parizan mt:s Belgrade - 8:45PM CET (1:45 PM Spurs time)

Madrid should win this one, but Partizan has enough talent to make it interesting.  No Spurs players involved.

Caja Laboral @ SLUC Nancy - 8:45PM CET (1:45PM Spurs time)

No Spurs players here, but longtime PtR love interest Nicolas Batum plays for Nancy.

CSKA Moscow @ Panathinaikos - 9PM CET (2:00PM Spurs time)

This is the premiere matchup of not only the week, but of the season so far.  Both teams enter the game undefeated, and CSKA's new acquisitions(Kirilenko, Krstic, Teodosic) will be tested against former Spur Romain Sato's Pana squad, which has done a good job of defending their 2011 championship so far.  This is as good a matchup as you'll find during the regular season, so it should be fun to watch.

I should also mention that next week, Eurocup(second level competition) starts up, and Valencia will be paying ASVEL a visit. In other words, Tony Parker vs. Nando De Colo, which should be fun.

I’d love to watch that one too.

But if it starts in the middle of a weekday like most of the rest of these, I’ll likely miss it. Ugh!

Can’t they schedule these things for my personal convenience? I have no NBA, don’t they understand?

I’m not sure Eurocup games will be available to watch online anyway. (Though there might be some French hackers out there who will put that one online). Look for it on Tuesday at 12:30PM.
