Around SBN: NFL Players Ready To Welcome Gay Teammate

It appears the dunk contest at All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles will feature Blake Griffin, JaVale McGee, Serge Ibaka and Brandon Jennings.

Your thoughts?

I think Blake has to be the favorite here, although I have seen some nice stuff from JaVale.

I was struck by the fact that 3 of the 4 players are "bigs." Traditionally the dunk contest seems to be for the midsized athletes (6'6"-ish, give or take an inch or two). Dwight Howard may have had an impact in that regard. Additionally, you have Jennings, who is relatively small. Are we seeing the Nate Robinson effect?

I think thats a good field. Should actually be kind of entertaining. You know, as much as uncontested dunks can be, at least.

Just give it to Griffin. Others have Hops but no one has his flash.

creativity is king in the dunk contest home slice. I really hope these guys take it more serious than past contenders. They should make the dunk contest open to non NBA players also. Like they send in video of there dunks to a judge and they pick the best two to go up against NBA players. Somebody a while ago posted video’s of Midnight madness in England and those dudes where so creative. That video and drafting Ryan Richards made me subscribe to Hoopsfix on youtube. LOL. People should check out this link and see the stuff these guys can do….

Actually, I think he is projected to be healthy a couple of weeks ahead of the contest.

I have bad feeling about this contest

If Griffin and Jennings go down, we still have two healthy participants, right? o_O

If griffin hurts his knee again here this will be the end of the Dunk contest for a while.

Hmm. This is about creativity, and Griffin looks rather dumb to me (don’t know if he is though).
Anyway, this contest has never really appealed to me. I even like the three point shootout more than this.

Whatever.
I’m still fuming over Gerald Green getting robbed in 2008.
