Pop named Western Conference Coach of the Month for December
...as if he gives a crap. Congrats to Pop, though - he's been doing a great job this season, even by his standards.
Spoelstra won the award in the East.

Pop won’t give a rip, but I certainly do! Congrats to my favorite coach in the game (and not just because he leads my Spurs)

I could just see someone congratulating Pop on the award and Pop saying “WTF is that?”
"Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."
A paper weight he can re-gift next Christmas. Zenmaster might appreciate it then while in retirement.
Thank you SF Giants for an incredible 2010 season and painting the City orange & black!
You gotta bring ass to get ass.
I vow to never mention "playoffs" and "49ers" together again until we have a "quarterback."
Does this pretty much seal Pop coaching the Wast team in the ASG?

I sure as hell better not get taxed on these dumb Coach of the Month awards they keep sending to the house.

Also, championships aside, I didn’t realize how impressive Pop’s coaching resume is:
This marks the 12th time that Popovich has been named the NBA’s Coach of the Month. He surpasses Phil Jackson to become the only active coach to have won the award 12 times. This ties Popovich with Pat Riley as the only two coaches in NBA history to earn the NBA’s Coach of the Month a record 12 times.
Popovich, the reigning Western Conference Coach of the Month, becomes the first coach since Mike Brown in the 2008-09 season to win Coach of the Month honors in consecutive months.

Good thing January will bring #13 to break those ties, huh?
"We suck on 'D. Both individually and team-wise, we suck. We're pretty consistent that way. I don't know if I have an answer to that. If I did, we wouldn't suck quite so bad." - Popovich

Congrats to Pop and the players. This pretty much means he will be coaching the West in the ASG. I’m sure that both honors make him oh so thrilled.

I’m just glad he’ll be able to limit the minutes of whichever big 3 makes the ASG, if any.

speaking of all-star game. Can you imagine a frontline of Blake and Blair for the sophomore team?

Wouldn’t Blake be on the rookie team? Griffin/Wall might be a deadly alley oop combo.
Free Tiago Splitter!
And why doesn’t the All Star Weekend include a senior citizens/veterans game too match up with the Rookie Challenge. Not sure if it should be old players in the east vs. old players in the west, or old players against the rookies, but it would be cool to see a team of old farts still bringing it, like say KG, Shaq, Ray Allen, Pierce, we can swap rondo with fish.
