Surrounded as I am by mindless fans of the Purple and Gold, it both surprises and delights me whenever I read a well-written, thoughtful piece by a Laker fan. His thinking about defense is similar to mine (and probably other PtR'rs) and I'd probably enjoy talking basketball with him. I'll certainly pay more attention to which teams run their offense so that they always have two guys between the arc and the half-court line ready for the transition from offense to defense. On another topic, given the complexities of the Triangle, do the Lakers use the D-League in the way the Spurs do, to prepare young players with the parent team's playbook before they get called up? EDIT: According to this, they don't seem to use their D-League team much to teach young players the Triangle... then again, they probably don't need to, given their roster.
