DTOUR: Week of 9/13
Soo... I resubscribed to Netflix and started watching more movies. A few I liked:
To watch soon: Sin Nombre; Hubert Selby Jr.: It'll Be Better Tomorrow
What else should I watch?

I saw In the Loop this weekend, and it was brilliant. Howlingly funny. Depressing and bleak, true, but you’ll have a great time watching the inevitable horrible truth be driven home. Furthermore, I learned fresh, new, creative combinations of swear words that I will draw on for the rest of my life.
I hope to see Mother soon.

I’ll check it out, thanks :]

Oh, in case anyone is wondering what Kevin Durant’s accumulated 2010 FIBA stats look like, they look like
this.

I see your crush on Durant has not abated in the least. ;) Any chance you can kidnap him and deliver him to SA?
With all due respect, gentlemen, we're not as crazy as she is.
I seriously had a dream that he joined the Spurs. I can’t go into details. This is a family blog.

When Durantula( > K-Smoothe *shudder) last played in Austin (exhibition game?) the fans continually chanted “one more year!” Too bad about the extension. Parker (1?) for Durant this Summer with a sign-and-trade? May as well get something (Durant sure is SOMETHING); we all know Le Contusion is going to leave us.
I believe El Contusion can be our PG for the next 4 years… especially in a Nashty kinda way: drive and kick, drive and posterize, uncanny passing, fade-away treys over a well contested shot…).
GHill3 is deserving of that starting 2 spot and he’s only getting better. Manu + GHill3 + Rage + Timmy + Blair (until Tiago gets the US game) is an amazing line up, in my, somewhat, innebriated opinion.
Oh! Sin Nombre is OUTSTANDING. Some of it’s lost in translation but it’s still a great read/watch ;) VamoSpurs!!!
**sorry to post this crap. I’ve been lurking too long. hope all is well with everyone!
This is as positively amazing as something like this could possibly be. Wow.
Thanks for sharing. Is this from a series, or is it one-of-a-kind?

Big News Item #1: Barring irresolvable scheduling conflicts, Martin Freeman in talks to play Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit.
Big News Item #2: Stephen King’s Dark Tower series moving forward as feature trilogy AND television series, with Ron Howard at the helm.
Now that’s something I wouldn’t like seeing. I absolutely LOVE the books. Just keep letting me use my imagination… Please!?

Some interesting news about Perth.
Honey I have a headache seems pretty benign compared to this.
I did a lot of soul searching. I didn't find anything.
i guess we can now add “may grow a penis on forehead” to the risks of swimming, alongside shark attacks and drowning.

This almost makes me want to buy the car.
I’ll be gone for a few days – off to California in search of greener cooler pastures.

Here’s Tony doing some boxing in what seems like the Lakers’ practice facility.

Eh, NBA players visit other team’s practice facilities all the time. Jeff Foster always does his offseason workouts at the Spurs’ facility, for example.

NBA League Pass?
My roommates decided to spring for digital cable, so they can get their ESPN FULL COURT; yeah, whatever. Well, as the only pro-ball fan in the house, I’ve been giving serious thought to cracking the wallet open for League Pass this year.
Why? For a couple of reasons:
- There’s going to be a lockout next year. Why not eat up as much Spurs basketball as I possibly can now, before I have to endure another “extended” offseason courtesy of the players and owners?
- BLAAAAAAAAAAAIR: Year Two!
- The “Streaming-Sites-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named” worked in a pinch, but hi-def on a 40-inch wins over laptop viewing window.
- Tiago “Master” Splitter: Year One!
- Watching “Boulder-on-His-Shoulder” Tony Parker take every one of opponents’ lunch money night in and night out.
Is there anyone on PtR who has League Pass TV? Is it worth it? Are you way, WAY outside the San Antonio area like I am, maybe? Please chime in and give me your thoughts.

I have to decide if I’m buying ESPN Full Court or NBA League Pass this year. I’m not paying for both, so this will be an excruciating decision.
With all due respect, gentlemen, we're not as crazy as she is.
I am planning to steal one of my kid’s iPods and try the League Pass Mobile app. Although if I’m going to be watching on that thing, I should probably go get my eyes checked too. And who knows maybe one of them will get an iPad for Christmas or something.
Hey if repeating as champions were that easy even the Spurs could do it.
Boy, olf, that would be really terrible if you (or any other Lakers fans, for that matter) hurt their wittle eyes by watching games on their iPod.
Please take the necessary precautions so that this never happens to you.

(Whoa. Somebody having a bad day today Jolly?) I was just commiserating about budget constraints. The $10 League Pass Mobile is all my budget allows this year.
Plus I watch the Laker games on an old 27" SD TV while the kids are watching SpongeBob MTV or whatever in glorious high def etc. But alas my eyes are no longer high def anymore so what the hell. (It is funny but I have found that good sound is more important than the HD picture, to me. So I hooked up some better speakers on the old TV and generally prefer to watch on that.)
Hey if repeating as champions were that easy even the Spurs could do it.
And here I thought that I’d been so subtle with my sarcasm.
I guess spelling little with a w gave me away.

Hey, I’m even further in enemy territory(AKA Long Beach) right now. How do you cope with this horrible climate? It’s not even 100 degrees…. ever.
Tony apologist since 2010.
Hey good luck on the search. But wait until February. It gets all the way down to 60 degrees in Long Beach then.
Btw, are you planning on doing another “Sizing Up the West” article this year?

Look at it this way, CapHill, if you buy NBA League Pass next month, you won’t have to worry about buying it again next year because of the lockout.
So, in Fall 2011, Full Court will be the default winner.

Cap, do you have Master Splitter on your list of possible nicks?

That would require me to have an actual list. You should know me better than that by now.
