One thing that bothers me is that do the Spurs have enough length and big bodies to create mismatches while defending teams with tons of length? Do they think that we can get away with playing small-ball? Are we becoming the next Golden State?
I think with the addition of the Splitter signing, must of us think yeah with Duncan,Blair,Bonner,Splitter, and Mcdyees our frontcourt is set. Sure we gained a 7 footer and length but do we have enough length to guard bigger teams? I believe we don't. I think most of us have to remember that Blair is undersized. As much as we love him and wished he was a few inches taller hes at a disadvantage. While he plays bigger than his size it still doesn't overshadow the fact that when he plays taller players he struggles. Bonner enters the equation and he is a stretch 4 and he doesn't defend or rebound like he could for his size. Mcdyees is old but he brings that veteran that all contenders should have and he's very solid on top of that. He did a great job on Dirk in the playoffs showing he can effectively guard taller opponents but between him,Duncan, and Splitter taller frontcourts will have the advantage. While we may have a nice frontcourt on paper were undersized and its gonna make it difficult to play against bigger teams.
