Not a blockbuster signing but with Farmar leaving & Fisher even older I think it helps the Lakers.

Yes. I understand the Knicks also wanted him, and is taking Roger Mason Jr. since Brown signed with your Lakers.

I kinda wish Brown went to NYC and RMJ joined you guys. I was even willing to take the risk that Mason would play his best game when LA meets San Antonio. :)

Wing/Guards: Kobe, Artest, Fisher, Barnes, Blake, Brown.
That’s a really good collection of proven NBA players. I wonder how they will rank in minutes played this season. Maybe you could switch Fish and Blake since it’s the regular season.

Fish says he wants to play starters minutes. But I’ll let Phil handle it.

Hey if repeating as champions were that easy even the Spurs could do it.

Why thank you, thank you for noticing.

Btw, you (and Tim C.) would have been so proud of me. I was in Target again yesterday and I strode right past the “Shoot & Share Camcorders” – even the sparkly purple and pink ones. Plus Amazon.com sent me an email ad about the same which I promptly ignored.

i think they'll divvy up minutes pretty evenly.

i can see the lakers going to a 3-wing rotation, involving Kobe, Artest, and Barnes. (32 mpg each)

at the “point”, i think there’ll be a pretty even split. (24 mpg each)

i see brown as more of a specialist. he should cut into the minutes of fisher/blake/barnes when the lakers need to match-up against a hyper-athletic team, or a quick, powerful pg.

i like how the guards are all a bit unique, but at the same time interchangeable.

Ha, I would hardly describe brown as a specialist, unless you consider dunking a specialty in the NBA. Even if we would however, his no-show at the dunk contest last year makes him a dunking specialist failure.

He is such a commodity to have as an end of the bench player though.

He’s two-time NBA Champion so you can blow that out your George Hill. at least that’s something.

Oops. I think I was about to say something about how many players the Lakers could sign, but what-evaah.

They obviously don’t have any cap room. But Blake & Matt Barnes (and Ratliff) signed for VERY little. Fisher took a cut of a few $mil per year on his new contract. They also let a couple of bench-ridin’ bigs go (Mbenga, Powell & Adam Morrison).

I hear that they plan on adding one or both of their draft picks to round out the roster. Rumor is that they are also prepared to deal Sasha Vujucic’s expiring $5mil-ish contract if the right deal or an unforeseen need comes up.
