And Peter Holt put his arms around Danny and said: “My son was lost, but now is found; open Pop’s wine cellar, bring him a new suit, and fit him for next year’s Championship Ring!”

The Spurs “Awesome Front Office that Is the Envy of the Entire League™” just got awesomer.
I never take the high road, but I tell other people to, that way there is more room for me on the low road.
Hey, I thought I trademarked that. I don’t care if they add unicorns and cotton candy pillows too, we’re still gonna beat your um, I mean best of luck in the new season.
Hey if repeating as champions were that easy even the Spurs could do it.
You did. See the trademark sign. I love Lauri’s quote, otherwise I would use yours as my sig. With the trademark sign of course, would not want to risk your ire.
Lauri: thank goodness I have you magnificent bastards to waste [the offseason] with.
Welcome back.

he doesn’t usually drink beer. But when he does, he prefers Dos Equis Sunkist. Stay thirsty my friends

Given the loss of talent in the management ranks this season, I say that this is a good add. I think Ferry just bit off more than he could handle in Cleaveland (bonus points for those that catch the reference…what can I say, I love Betty White)
While complacency costs, perseverance pays
I think I heard that on Boston Legal once.
Also: He was a really good Cavs GM, honestly. He’s better than 90% of the GMs in the league. The only thing he was bad at was drafting. Really. And even then, he wasn’t terrible at it. Gilbert just fired him because he thought he could keep LeBron with a new GM…

I thought Ferry resigned earlier in the year, before the LeBracle… are you saying that he “resigned?”
In any event, I’m glad to see him come back… for however long he stays this time.

Boy, you sure were getting around with this, weren’t you?
But a week old fanshot, Blase. Really?

Right; you replied to tuna 30 minutes after he commented in a week-old fanshot that hadn’t seen any action in days. It doesn’t mean anything one way or another. I was just trying to make the joke that you were really going to extremes to find places to use whip flash.

Actually BlaseE, I wasn’t saying that Ferry had re-signed (my preferred spelling when I mean someone has signed a new contract or contract extension)… by “resigned?” I was asking if Doc was saying that Gilbert forced Ferry out but let him save face by allowing him to “resign.”

You do know that you don’t need to campaign for it anymore, don’t you?

I like that move, it signifies that the Spurs place weight on what happens up I-35

Wow, I like this move. It puts a respected, experienced manager in our development team, which allows us to develop possibly more quality players for the future.

in 2003, danny ferry was the first ever duke player to earn an NBA championship ring as an NBA player. as best i can remember, that distinction is still true.
Wow! That is an amazing stat considering the NCAA success that Duke has enjoyed over the years. My theory is that Duke has had inferior athletes over the years (with exceptions like Hill, Brand, Deng, Boozer, etc) but plays well as a team so can succeed at the college level. I used to hate K back in the 80s but respect him more and more as time goes on.

Helpful Ferry
Maybe Ferry can whisper a suggestion like the Spurs 2012 first round pick for Rudy Fernandez or Tony Parker, Antonio McDyess and the Spurs 2011 first round pick for Carmelo Anthony.
Yikes, didn’t you read the “Compare Jefferson To Melo” FanPost, where ’Mela’s very low efficiency was discussed at length? He needs far too many possessions to make his points, and many PtR’rs think he’d be a poor fit for the Spurs.

Correction. Spurs 2011 first round pick for Rudy Fernandez. T. Parker & R. Jefferson for Carmelo Anthony. Projected starting five for Spurs: G. Hill (PG), R. Fernandez (SG), C. Anthony (SF), T. Duncan (PF) & T. Splitter ©. Bench: G. Temple/M. Ginobili (PG), M. Ginobili/J. Anderson/G. Neal (SG), J. Anderson/A. Gee (SF), D. Blair/R. Richards (PF) & A. McDyess/M. Bonner ©.
Wait…i’m confused.
Why wouldnt we start Bonner?
