ESPN>Source: Hawks, Celts, Mavs interested in Shaq
Oh please, please, please! Let Shaq do to the Celts what he did to Phx & Cle. Just thinking about it makes me happy.

Celtics are a pretty good fit for him
"He was just a young skinny guy who looked like a winner. We didn’t know he was going to be as good as he is."
—Popovich on Manu Ginobili
In my opinion Shaq always leaves chaos in his wake and I think he is beyond bringing “championship” level help like he did to Miami.
While Boston needs all the big man help they can get now that Perkins is out for awhile. I would love to see Shaq finish off Boston’s hopes.
Hey if repeating as champions were that easy even the Spurs could do it.

Boston is where players go to try one last time for a championship, then end their career. Stephon Marbury, Rasheed Wallace, and this year it will be Shaq.
Lets just call him the “Big Saddle” since he’s always looking to ride someone’s back to another ring.
"We suck on 'D. Both individually and team-wise, we suck. We're pretty consistent that way. I don't know if I have an answer to that. If I did, we wouldn't suck quite so bad." - Popovich

Anyways, hes going to hurt whoever he signs with. I’m hoping for Dallas.

I will always remember right after he got traded to Phx. He wasn’t playing yet but got introduced to the cheering crowd. He stands up and shows them one of his rings. Right there I knew it was going to end badly and it was more than I could have hoped for.
(Maybe he could be another big to help Duncan out. :)
He was never my favorite Laker but I was shocked they had the balls to trade him. Congrats to him for getting back in shape and playing well.
But he’s a jerk. Always talking shit about his old teams – even if it is true the classy thing is to just say “Hey that was the past, I am focusing on my new team”. But that’s not Shaq’s way.

Assuming Splitter doesnt come over...
Honestly, I’d given serious consideration to signing him to be a bench player this summer. He’s a good passer, and as far as production goes, you know exactly what hes going to give you (something around 12/6 per 20). Granted, he’s slow and so he doesnt fix our problem of being unable to defend the PnR, but if we played him in a lineup with Blair, Manu, RJ, and Hill, i think thats a solid bench. On offense, we have two good low post options, a slashing wing, and 2 knockdown shooters. With some time to gel, i think they’d be good.
Obviously, i’m not as low on Shaq as others around here are. But at this point in his career, he can play solid D against the big boys like Bynum. He’s a tough (although slow) banger similar to Kurt Thomas, but with slightly better shotblocking and size. For a slow paced, halfcourt team, i still think he is a solid pickup for 15-20 minutes a night. For us, he might be a “worst case scenario” type of addition, but we still could do a hell of a lot worse.
He might be old, slow, and (potentially) cause some chemistry issues, but he’s no Darko.

Oh he Shaqtastic! I think Miami and Phx (perhaps Cle?) were paying him $20mil per – from the contract extension the Lakers wouldn’t give him. So at a lower amount he might still be serviceable. I just look at what he’s left in his wake at Cle, Phx, Mia, LAL & Orl. It looks nasty to me.
