If it is expected that the Knicks will try to blow the Spurs out of the water with an offer to Tony, do we look to move him during the trade window? and how badly will this impact upon our attempts to sustain a deep run in the playoffs?
If this scenario were to occur, what pieces do the Knicks have that could be advantageous to the Spurs this year, and in future years?
Amongst the players who they could trade are:
Ray Felton PG (tradeable after Dec 15th)
Wilson Chandler G/F
If they do get Parker then Felton is expendable, as will be Chandler or Gallinari if they get Carmelo on board.
I'd rather not lose Tony for nothing, so if it comes to pass that he won't resign, I would accept a trade for Felton, Randolph, and Gallinari with maybe a R1 or Matthews as well, including Jefferson as well if he continues to under perform on his new contract.
