For me, the big news today is that Ian signed with the Mavericks. I'm very happy for him. I hope he got more than the vet minimum from them. I also hope that Haywood doesn't start a fight with him in practice.

Bell is probably going to LA and Barnes may cost too much, but if Jones hand has finally recovered he could be a decent pickup. Before his hand/wrist injury he shot over 40% from beyond the stripe. I would expect to see if his shooting touch has returned before signing him.

Actually that may be why RC has shown an interest in him. Jones is 6’8", and very quick. He plays decent to good defense, just doesn’t have the offensive ability to take it to the hoop with his one-on-one moves.
I was under the impression that James Jones was a terrible defender. I only remember him from his Suns days under D’Antoni.

What do you thnk of Jerrells? With Temple out, he should shine, but he hasn’t been much better than squeaky.
I think he has the potential but right now with the Temple injury I think the pressure is on him now.

And thats his opinion. If anyone here is a GM, and the pick Jerells over Temple, they are an idiot. Jerrells could turn into a decent player, but right now, hes overdribbling and making a lot of bad decisions with the ball. he needs to stop pressing and let the game come to him. Temple is also a better defender (although Jerrells is no slouch)

No one here is a GM, so no one would qualify as an idiot. But Temple has already shown a lot of poise and a solid game without a lot of the work with the Spurs. Jerrells has had a year in the system and is ok.
Without Temple, Jerrells might be an option, but Temple pretty much eliminates him from the Spurs.
To be honest, Squeaky has made better plays.

He seems pretty focused on defense. He’s still not the best, but he’s not bad. He’s been good at coming over to help with guard penetration. Offensively, he’s still hasnt shown me much, but neither did RJ last year.

He knows he’ll earn a spot for his D, more than his offense. Spurs tend to live with that if he can cover a Dirk/West/Odom and possibly help (if there is foul trouble) out when playing the Lakers on a Gasol/Bynum.
Which are you talking about? Or both? I think Gee COULD play this year, but i doubt he will. If he can cut back on the turnovers, he’s in Odom territory.
