Morrow rumours
Not sure if this has surfaced elsewhere but it surprised me.
Straight from Adrian Wojnarowski's honker to you.
Morrow draws several suitors
Golden State Warriors restricted free agent Anthony Morrow(notes) has attracted a slew of interest in the first hours of free agency, including from the Los Angeles Lakers, San Antonio Spurs, Boston Celtics, Portland Trail Blazers, Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Clippers.
While he would be a great guy to have on board, I don't know where the front office would find the financial wherewithall to actually make a deal happen?
If we grab Tiago for most if not all of the MLE we really don't have much more than the LLE to offer and no way we pick up a RFA for that.
Woj while not 100% is for my money the most accurate of the commentators out there, which makes this especially interesting.

Wright/Gomes/James Jones would be better, provide more value to the Spurs as they are free agents who could be picked up. Probably the full LLE with years would lock them in.
but which should we get?

Why?I know him but I’m not familiar with his game
Nate Robinson is one-eighth Filipino. How the hell that happen? His great granpa?Anyways its not really a big deal. Now back to your Spurs news.Antonio McDyess has a 42" Vertical Leap.
a somewhat methodic 3/4 who can make open shots, a below average three point shooter but decent from the corners, he is really a do it all forward who can rebound, pass and defend. Too short to play the 4, a bit slow to play the 3 but his other skills make up for this shortcomings. He is what you call a “glue guy”. Very Versatile, a very good option for “smallball”. I like him. Moreso than Wright (still very unproven) and Jones (i dont like him, he sucks)
"Rock and Roll angels bring that HardRock Hallelujah"
Wright has the most upside, but has the most questionable personality/locker room presence. He’s young so maybe that can change with a new city. He plays D, is big/athletic and can hit the 3.
Gomes is known as a great locker room guy. Not laterally as quick as the other two guys, but still a good defender. He can handle 4’s better than the other. He can shoot pretty well.
Jones – was a guy Spurs were interested in until they got Finley. He is probably the balance between Wright and Gomes. He’s known as a good locker room guy and he can shoot the 3. He’s a good perimeter defender, but what you see is pretty much what you are going to get for the remainder of his career.
I like Wright’s ability and potential but his questionable personality may be the deciding factor. Sucks though. I think he would be the best option (most talented) of the three.

James Jones is the safest option with the most to offer though. I’d take him rather than no one at all, if it is possible. But for the LLE, if you can get Wright, is that worth the risk?
I agree with you both. But if we had a pick of either which one do we roll the dice on?
One thing i can do...................is FINGER ROLL.

If let say RJ sign a 45mill/5yr deal then full MLE for TS,is it possible to still sign morrow to a,let say 2.1 million deal, his earning 600-800k,plus his young,he might want a three yr deal that might cause around 8-10 mill right?so is it possible to have this guy, plus let say we will sign either ex heat players or Gomes.

The only way for the Spurs to sign anyone is to use the available cap space, or use the MLE and LLE…the LLE can only be a two year deal of about $3.5 mil total. If they use the available cap space then they are done.
I just compressed my salary cap knowledge so far I don’t think it makes any sense to anyone but me now.
To recap, if the Spurs re-sign Jefferson and sign Tiago into the MLE, then they can offer Morrow $3.5ish over two years and that’s it.
While complacency costs, perseverance pays
Wish Morrow would agree to a 3.5 million deal.Really wish we could have this guy, despite being a warrior,I really think he can ball.He is excellent on offense and has a decent defense, let say his defense is like mase or a little better than mase.

I give you the Golden State Warriors...
Who apparently will not be matching 3 mill a year for Morrow…
That franchise is the Emo Self Harmer of the NBA.

This doesn’t make sense to me either. If they say they are building a team around Steph Curry then why get rid off Morrow? I would rather lose Ellis and keep Murrow’s shooting so that Steph has space on the floor.

Wasn’t Morrow $4m per year? Is that really such a bargain for a one-dimensional 3 point shooter? Much taller 3 point specialists were available for less, with red hair thrown in for free!
