This is one of those crazy ideas that I just had to throw out there.
The Sixers are reportedly offering to trade the #2 pick in the first round of the 2010 draft though in return they ask teams to take on Elton Brand's HORRIBLE contract. Let's consider this if the Spurs don't get Splitter then would they consider trading RJ by the way he does have a horrible contract to for Brand and the 2nd pick? Yes we would be taking on another Horrible contract but we would have the 2nd pick and be able to draft anyone like Turner who could play SF or Favors as they Spurs did interview him. Plus if we can get Brand to stay healthy then we could have that big we needed an a future star in whoever we draft with the 2nd pick. So in a sense we would be rebuilding for the future imagine a big 3 of George, Blair, and Turner or Favors, plus add a developed Hairston and Temple and to me thats one hell of a future. Of course the Sixers would probably want our #20 pick if they did this but if we can somehow keep our pick and just trade RJ I would do this especially if Tiago doesn't come over and then he becomes a valuable trade asset for draft picks or young and up-coming stars. I know this might sound crazy but imagine this scenario if Splitter is never coming over and we decide that its time to start rebuilding for the future this would be one of the first steps towards that direction. You ask why the Sixers would do this well there already iffy about drafting Turner and pairing him with Iggy and yes RJ is a small forward to but he does have a player option and if he realizes that he is going to be on a bad team he would probably opt out and if not they could always trade him mid-season for picks and anything else they might see fit.
