Hey guys, this is Kevin Payne of the St. Louis Rams, and I just wanna give a huge shout out to my boy, James Anderson. He was the shooting guard for Oklahoma State, and now he’s a San Antonio Spur, thanks to them drafting him in the first round, last week.
You see, James is from my hometown of Junction City, Arkansas (We both attended Junction City High), so I’ve got the credentials to vouch for him and speak the truth about how the the guy’s a phenomenal athlete, real humble, and he’s a respectful kid with a great work ethic. San Antonio is fortunate to have been able to pick him up.The night he was drafted, our town had a gathering - which I attended - up at the high school, where we all watched James’ dreams come true on the big screen. All his hard work has finally paid off, and everybody in his hometown, along with all of South Arkansas, is real proud of him. He's now a hometown hero.
James being drafted is a big deal to those of us who live in our small town. Our high school had - only like - 300 people in it, so a lot of Junction City locals are beyond happy to see him get drafted so high. It’s too cool to see him come out early, as a junior, after having been named Big 12 Player of the Year and being selected to the Big 12 All-Academic Team. It’s accomplishments like those that make all of us hometown-folk feel confident that James is gonna do real well in the NBA.
All you Spurs fans feel free to leave your comments congratulating him on my Facebook Page. I’ll make sure he gets them. Facebook.com/KevinPayneNFL
Oh, and thanks for letting me hang out around here. Now that James is with the Spurs, I just might have to become a San Antonio fan ;-)
