Video of Ryan Richards in pre draft workouts with kings (hat tip Aykis16 Sactown Royalty)

My little bit of fluff on the side is the Sacremento Kings.  I have always had a soft spot for them, for whatever reason despite them not being very spurs like and I particularly enjoyed Kevin Martins tenure there as he toiled unappreciated and unloved by the rest of the NBA.

Well Aykis16 went to the pre draft workouts for Hassan Whiteside which featured none other than our own #49 pick Ryan Richards from the old dart.

I think the massive white guy in the video is Cole Aldrich.  Man these guys are massive. Whiteside has the most ridiculous wings i've ever seen.

Richards hustles and he is aggressive, but you can see the difference between posting up joe average in front of 20 people and doing full court drills against monsters.  One thing i do like is that he is playing against Shot blockers and not being utilised as a stretch catch and shoot guy.  If he gets a matchup like whiteside in summerleague he is going to get seriously open looks.

At least he didn’t look totally out of place in that work out. I can see why the Kings with the Whiteside over Richards whom they were once reported to be very interested in.

What I liked most in those videos were the passes that Richards dished out in Part 1

I liked the one at the 1:20 mark to Udoh

yep and if you watch part two there are a few occasions where he goes out of his way to bump into people.

If he can provide average banging and blocking as well as three point shooting he’ll be a hell of a pickup at 49.

may he be a great banger of people someday

For Sale:Anyone interested with Spurs SF Richard Jefferson? Then just pick up your phone and dial 781-452-0659.Oh,wait its the rejection hot line.(Just joking,we're stuck with him, let's deal with it that we got no other SF and I guess he is much better than what he is showing us.)

How dare you talk about Manu’s wife like that.

The people of the village fell silent, as the beast opened its mouth. And then the beast spoke, and said "LOL BRO".

I think she was referring to Many as in “many people”, not Manu’s wife, God forbid.

I think he was just kidding.

Whiteside

owned our guy in those two video’s! Richards has a really nice jumper and like the scouting report said he needs to work on his post game. I think he will be fine because he was younger than al those dudes on the court.

what i liked was that he was a good passer, played good Man D forcing a really tough shot in part 1, then screened his guy for Udoh to get the easy dunk after the rebound. Great awareness.

If he can play the D and drift to the 3 point line plus maintain that angry face he’ll be like Channing Frye/Matt Bonner plus.

not to mention he handles the ball better than either of those guys and passes better. I reckon at 49 he is a great pickup.

Dare I say, Robert Horry potentially? Defense is key for that to become true….. Just want to be the first to say it! :)

There will only ever be one Robert Horry

There’s always one guy, but there can be players that carry attributes of a former player.

maintain that angry face

How about the English Kendrick Perkins with the face plus a better jumper and threes?
