Rough transcript of RC’s interview:

You guys saw we drafted James Anderson … We’re very excited, he’s a terrific player, a terrific player, and we think he’s going to be a great fit for our spurs family for years to come.

When you’re drafting 20 you cant be particularly selective. I think as much as anything if you listen to guys who know the college basketball scene, they really liked James, but he’s been injured for the past 4-5 wks which prevented him from working out. It was our prediction he would be gone a lot higher than this.

Obviously people evaluate them for their own teams, reasons. We think its a good fit for us.

(Regarding his skill set) He’s improved every year, led their team in scoring 22.5ppg, good shooter. His percentage wasn’t that good this year, he had to do so much for Oklahoma City State, you can understand why his percentage was down. He was the Big 12 Player of the Year.

(Some guy asked why the Spurs didn’t get a big) What’s your name? You decided we needed a big? We’ll address our needs as we get to them.
