I never wanted this day to come. Never thought it would, never wanted it,and I am still in denial and anticipating waking up anyday now.
The Phoenix Suns are the better team. I didnt want to say it, but they are. I can no longer deny that. As much as i would like to just blame matchups, or the refs, or injuries, we can no longer use that as an excuse. Their role players are better. Hell, their role players outplayed OUR STARTERS in the second half tonight. We 've been settling for too many jumpers. They pack the paint and dare us to shoot, and we miss. Manu made some incredible shots, had a few good defensive plays...Blair played well. Tim...instead of focusing on that conditioning this summer, shoot some damn free throws. learn how to make them. Hill was a no show tonight. Rage was as unpredictable as ever, but we cant even blame this on him. He didnt earn 14 million, but he certainly didnt play poorly. I'm sure everyone knows by now that I'm biased towards Bonner, but he was easily our best role player tonight, and one of our 3 best players in general.
I'm not saying its over, but i am saying its probably time to tip our hats to the Suns, and give them the credit they've earned. They have played outstanding basketball 3 games in a row now. They capitalize on our mistakes. They hit open 3's. They hit contested 3's. Their bench consistently produces. They really are the deepest team in the league.
I guess thats all i have to say. I'm sorry this lacks any sort of real analysis. To be honest, i'm a little emotional right now. I think my facebook status sums it up best:
"words cannot express this feeling of utter disappointment, despair, and loserness. If you had told me at the beginning of the season that we would be down 3-0 to the Phoenix Suns in the second round, after blowing two double digit leads, i would have laughed. A lot. I'm not laughing now"
