The Ultimate Stat Curse???
Lots and lots of internet gossip regarding Cavs coach Mike Brown being given the bums rush in Cleveland.
Have a look at the last five winners prior to Scott Brooks taking the title this year with OKC.
| 2004–05 | Mike D'Antoni^ | Phoenix Suns | 62–20 | .756 | |
| 2005–06 | Avery Johnson | Dallas Mavericks | 60–22 | .732 | |
| 2006–07 | Sam Mitchell | Toronto Raptors | 47–35 | .573 | |
| 2007–08 | Byron Scott | New Orleans Hornets | 56–26 | .683 | |
| 2008–09 | Mike Brown^ | Cleveland Cavaliers | 66–16 | .805 | |
Notice anything apart from the fact that they all had a penchant for designer suits and three of them liked to sport a mustache?
They are all currently not employed by the team that they won the award with, well in fact Mark Cuban may well be paying Avery Johnson still but you get the idea.
If Brown goes you'd have to fear for Brooks. It could be that this is the poison chalice of professional sports.

I think it says more about the NBA than it does about the award. EVERY coach gets fired at some point, with the exception of Pop, Jackson, and Sloan, usually after a year or two. Even media darling Larry Brown was run out of town a couple of times. If Brooks doesn’t have in team in WCF in two years, he’ll be fired too. It’ll be something along the lines of “he was a good coach for the up and coming team, but we need a veteran coaching presence to get us over the top.” type excuse.
garbage time all stars, a superb site. the best comic around for nba fans. A Must read.
Sadly, the last months the site has been a bit dead
"Rock and Roll angels bring that HardRock Hallelujah"
Yeah, it used to be an awesome site. But now, crickets. I think the artists became busy or something.
Just cause we're crippled, don't mean we gotta take the crumbs.
