What does the future hold for the Spurs?..

After the heartbreaking elimination of our beloved team by the Mavericks and Suns for two consecutive seasons, what does the future have for the Spurs? There are simply a lot of unknowns...

Case 1 -The Big Three

The Big Three, Tony Parker, Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobilli has faced tons of ups and downs this past season due to injury and age (Duncan-35, Ginobilli-32), bring along inconsistency and we dug ourselves into a very big hole that we can't climb out of. Sure, all they need is a lot of rest and they will surely get it this offseason, but how about next year?  Can they show promise that they'll be ready for the playoffs, when all the physical and mental fatigue are at its peak? Ginobilli, especially Duncan can't play the minutes like they used to at their prime, we all know that. But without those minutes from them, what can we do?

Case 2 - Richard Jefferson

Inconsistency. That's  one word that comes to my mind whenever  RJ's name is mentioned (actually, the first one would be F%@k!). Richard Jefferson just came out his most disappointing season since his rookie year. I know, the Spurs playbook is complicated, etc. etc...But his athleticism alone could be useful, we have seen that in several games, but most of the time he just stood there like an atheistic child waiting for attention. (Sorry, just bending out frustration) Besides, Antonio McDyess stepped it upped during our short playoff stint, how come RJ didn't, when they came into fold at the same offseason? There are also a lot of unknowns regarding RJ, will he opt out? Will he be a traded? If he stays, what can we actually expect of him?

Case 3 - Tiago Splitter Beims

So, that's Tiago Splitter for you. Further, please remember that these stats and evaluation are from the Euroleague, will these translate well in the NBA? In the first place, how much are we sure that he will actually come and play in the NBA? And, will it be for the Spurs?

Case 4 - 2010 Draft

It is stills a month to go before draft day, so for now let's leave it to the FO and the scouts to do their job. We can speculate all we want, but in the end it will still be up to them. You have to remember that the FO likes to surprise fans with their "under the radar" moves, so I'm really not betting the farm on speculations and rumors.
