Basically, the higher and further right you are the more impressive you are….and there we are off by ourselves. All the teams are labeled so you can draw your own conclusions about those. Please share them in the comments though.

Examples:

Toronto really sucks. I hope Chicago makes it as the 8th seed.

Orlando is winning by almost 12 points a game. Can you fault them that the competition is a little weak?

How good is Phoenix’s 10 game win streak and margin of victory when they are coasting on the easiest SoS in the league? Utah, we’re looking at you too, and Portland, you aren’t much better.

Didn’t need a graph to know that we’re playing great basketball right now, but it’s always nice to see such things mathematically proven.

Yeah, it’s easy to know we’re playing good, but we’re a crazy outlier on that chart. We’re the only team playing a >.520 SoS with a positive margin. We’re also the only team with a margin over 6 ppg with a SoS over .490.

The chart also tells you a lot about some of the so-called high-caliber teams. Dallas and Memphis are relatively equal, for example.

Milwaukee, Denver and the Lakers seems to be the ones having a tough schedule but continuing to win. Unfortunately for the Bucks Bogut had a nasty fall tonight. Hopefully it is not serious.
