Hopefully, he plays. If not Garret should start.

Going for "50"

lets hope that Pop is just playing mind games with the mavs

No G. Hill

#$%$#@#$!!!! That’s all I have to say about that. Let’s hope he can be ready to go for gm 3 Fri.

This article is a non-news. This is based on the practice report on spurs.com. All that Pop said was that Hill will be a game time decision, just like Sunday. I’m optimistic that Hill will play based on the tone in the practice report. He even practiced today.

Good job keeping perspective.

by SpurredOn on Apr 21, 2010 2:42 AM CDT up reply actions

that was exactly what I was going to say…..check those interviews at http://www.nba.com/spurs/ George was feeling good, just tentative but Pop likes to keep things in the air…That said, Pop may want to try Temple (or Masonery for god’s sake!) if he thinks he is not 100%…

by spursfan_needs_counseling on Apr 21, 2010 7:19 AM CDT up reply actions

based on what i’ve read….it’s game time decision and it doesn’t mean that hill won’t play unless the game started of him not playing active
second is that hill may play but he will come off the bench
on the two situations-hill playing or not——-TEMPLE SHOULD START AND NO MASON PLEASE!

If he doesn’t play is means he shouldn’t have in game 1. Since he didn’t score it’s almost like he didn’t, except Temple may have contributed.

Temple and Mason better be ready.

FIFY

by swgeek on Apr 21, 2010 2:58 AM CDT up reply actions

I’m not giving up on Mason, perhaps foolishly. 3pt shooting is too much of a difference maker in the playoffs. I still think he’s good for one big contribution to one win a series in limited minutes.

You gotta bring ass to get ass.

by SpurredOn on Apr 21, 2010 11:19 AM CDT up reply actions

i think that is why he hurts me so bad right now….i know he is capable of so much better….we’ve seen it

by BlaseE on Apr 21, 2010 2:34 PM CDT up reply actions

As long as he has the hand taped, I don’t think he is capable of any better. Unfortunately.

The Spurs = Not your granddaddies 7th seed !

by alamobro on Apr 21, 2010 3:57 PM CDT up reply actions

THAT is the key. A shooter with a taped hand is much like a lead guitar player with one. He might be able to get up on stage and strum along for appearance sake, but you’d better have someone playing backup who can take the lead because your #1 WON’T be able to. Although many are hating on Mase, myself included for awhile, it’s not completely his fault. It’s the RARE super athlete who can overcome and play (at a high level) with injury. Too bad though, his shooting would have been a definite plus

Holy crap. Where have you been…..?

The Spurs = Not your granddaddies 7th seed !

by alamobro on Apr 22, 2010 3:13 AM CDT up reply actions

You may be right. I think if the hand was healed he’d be good for more than one game per series. With it taped it’s no more than that. He has the random good game (@Denver earlier comes to mind). In him limited minutes I want him solely to spot up shoot. Catch and shoot. If he makes it, he stays out there for bit longer. If he keeps making them he gets to come back in later. If he misses twice, to the bench he goes for the game.

You gotta bring ass to get ass.

DAMN! I blame this on Fisher and that goddamn cameraman!

If you liked it then you should have put a 5th ring on it. Oh oh oh.

by TDzilla! on Apr 21, 2010 3:53 AM CDT reply actions

All the more reason for Tony to dominate Fisher.

DAMN YOU, CAMERAMAN!!! YOU ARE THE DESTROYER OF WORLDS!!!

Logically, I’d much prefer Temple over Mason. Temple’s been great with his perimeter shot, can finish and handles the ball well (which aside from the RoMaJu experiment is a requisite for point guards).

Asked before the game how Parker has looked, Popovich said, "He’s still cute. "
