I grew up reading comics, and Iron Man was one of my very favorite ones !

Going to try and give some insight that might not be seen in the movie or picked up conveniently in Wikipedia…

While Rhodes, (affectionately called “Rhodey”), is Tony Starks best friend and confidant, they haven’t always seen eye to eye and have actually squared off from time to time in suits of armor.

Tony Starks advanced technology was highly sought after by everyone from governments to private contractors. The naive Stark made the mistake of selling his technology to many of these people, and some of them would go on to use it for…unsavory purposes. Tony would go on a mission to recover all of his technology and battled many of these former customers, thus the “armor wars” series was born.

One customer was all too ready for Stark. Tony was so badly injured in the scrap, that he faked his own death at the end of the fight, in order to save his life. (Tony would eventually heal up and create a newer more advanced suit, then proceed to knock the hell out of Firepower.)

James Rhodes has taken on the mantle of Iron man on several occasions.

I am willing to bet that the robots Tony is seen battling in IRON MAN 2 are the “Mandroids” a series of robots that Stark helped design for the paramilitary special forces division known as “S.H.I.E.L.D”, and also one of Starks antagonists in the armor wars.

from the trailer, I think whiplash (rourke) is hired by sam rockwell’s character to duplicate the iron man tech and that is where the suits come from…..I don’t think it is Stark’s decision …I don’t know though

I wouldn’t be surprised, things are often changed in the movie version. For example, the comic book whiplash’s powers had nothing to do with stark technology and hes alot less powerfull than the movie version.

Depends. Up until Wednesday, I had an idea of the “rookie wall” taking out Blair; the past few weeks haven’t been kind to The Beast.

Then, he went 20/20 on the Ponies. But I’m going to see what happens in the opening series. I think we can expect a playoff “breakout game” from DeJuan.

...!!

only if he gets minutes, which i hope he does. If you count the rookie game (which i suppose you shouldnt), he’s had 3 20/20 games now this year. Impressive, rookie wall or not.
