2nd Half Thread: Battle of the Gingers

Okay, not really.  Boston's Bonner hasn't even entered the game.  Manu is continuing his tear since the All-Star break, with that monster block on the motormouth.  Now some of the other Spurs need to step up.

From CelticsBlog. Thought you guys might like this:

I think this is the real Celtics, guys.

When the C’s can’t hit their 3’s, they aren’t close to being a great team. They can’t reliably get inside shots and they’re a very poor rebounding team. They lack an interior scoring presence and their outside shooters go through stretches where they can’t get decent shots. The C’s have to hope for hot shooting to have big games against good teams.

I’m pretty sure they changed it after the 2006 season. The division winners are only guaranteed home court advantage in the first round. So if your top 2 teams in the conference are in the same division then they don’t have to match up in the second round, but in the conference finals.

We specialize in misinformation around here. Facts and stats just get in the way.

7 hours of sleep sounds just right. Later, Bakkie.

Sweet jeebus, what I wouldn’t give for 7 hours of sleep. . . .

I have flying monkeys at my disposal, and I'm not afraid to use them.

I think RJ said something about Manu being one of the best player he’s seen.

He did. You want the whole quote?

Q: You and Manu carried the game tonight. What is it about the way you guys play together that seems to be working so well?

A: I’ve said it many times, the way he gets deflections, the way he’s so active, always moving, you know, that’s kind of what I’m used to. A lot of ball movement—he drives and kicks it; he has great timing on his pass. He’;s one of the be—I knew he was great, but you don’t fully understand how amazing he is day in and day out until you really play with him, but— . . . You know, he’s one of the most talented players I’ve ever seen.

That Udoh guy is a stud.

I'm not saying something is wrong, but something isn't right.

by SinCitySpur on Mar 28, 2010 9:46 PM CDT reply actions

He would be a great Spur. Unfortunately, he won’t fall that far.

by CapHill on Mar 28, 2010 9:47 PM CDT up reply actions

Trade Timmeh for him?

I hope he breaks his ACL’s so we can grab him with the 37th pick

I think Tim C. would volunteer to be traded, if the Spurs could draft Udoh.

by CapHill on Mar 28, 2010 9:50 PM CDT up reply actions

RJ had 11 rebounds !

And the Spurs outrebound yet another opponent 48 to 37

Crappy teams fear us !

As was commented in the preview thread:

Bonner must dominate Scalabrine for us to win.
Check.
Without Perk, they should have no advantage on the boards.
Check.
Of course, we have Manu, and they don’t.
Check, Check.
Looks like a winnable game to me,
Check.
but probably will be a dogfight, with single digit differences all the way..
Not quite. RJ emergence was too much for Boston to handle. And Bonner dominated not only Scalabrine, but also Garnett.

Next season doesn't exist. Only today exists. So say we all.

Hey Davis, the game was on RPN9. I was at work so I’d like to watch the replay. Any idea what time the replay airs? RPN9’s NBA schedule is confusing.

by TD21 on Mar 29, 2010 2:15 AM CDT up reply actions

I think they show it really early, like 4 or 5pm. I never get home that early so I always miss it. If it’s not on by then, either they air it really late or not at all.

by silverandblack_davis on Mar 29, 2010 3:06 AM CDT up reply actions

Ok, that sucks. I didn’t get to watch the game better. I was so swamped with paperwork and on a deadline, I willed myself to stop glancing at the telly. Great win!
