In the crucial last 7 minutes of the game what the FUCK does Popovitch do? He brings in RJ MASON AND DICE AT THE SAME TIME.. Not to mention Timmy who’s having the 2nd worst game of the season.
I’m so fucking pissed right now.

This is the 2nd most important game so far this season (after the OKC win the other day), and Tim Duncan is barely showing up to play.
Jefferson fucking sucks ass as usual. Haha to those ignorant enough to think he’d turned a corner after playing decent vs a few shit teams.
Mason fucking sucks so much I can’t believe even stubborn as hell Pop still doesn’t realize it. He made a couple shots for us the other night. Other than that he’s been a hindrance to the team EVERY GAME the last 2 months.
George Hill Fucking Rules. But he hasn’t done much the 2nd half.
Ginobili is god. I will feel bad for him if the Spurs do resign him at this point, since he gets nearly no help on this team. Ban me.
Screw the refs. Kobe got away with a lot more then that on Manu

a 12 game winning streak into the playoffs would be impossible. We are already on a 7 game winning streak with 11 games to go. The best we could do is a 10 game winning streak or 18 going into the playoffs. 12 at this point is impossible.

They are not real contenders yet. We would be contenders with him. He is one piece we are missing.
We should start rebuilding around Durant
I agree they arent true contenders yet, but what I mean by a good thing is , he is helping build something.
I dont see him just bolting Oklahoma after this season. They made a quantum jump this season and im sure he will want to stay and see how far they can go… ( then again , maybe he will see $$$$$ and sign elsewhere )
Crappy teams fear us !
Durant will not be leaving OKC. He loves his teammates, and well he should. It’s a pretty rare thing that so many players on a team mesh that well personality-wise—they actually enjoy each other’s company. Maybe when he’s older, if he gets married, has a few kids, has a family that gives him structure and a focus off the court, he’ll consider leaving for a bigger market, but right now—why would he put himself through that kind of torture? In a way, what he has right now reminds me of what Jordan had when he started with the Bulls. They weren’t a great team, and that’s what gave Jordan the time to grow (and grow UP) and develop his game without forcing it.
I have flying monkeys at my disposal, and I'm not afraid to use them.

Can we do anything about it?
We should start rebuilding around Durant
The only thing is that the Thunderclusters are some experience & a quality big man away from contention, IMO.

Look, I love Durant. But it’s NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN. Sorry, but it just isn’t. Don’t be surprised to see the Spurs make a gargantuan trade this summer, though. It just won’t be for Durant.

Not that it’s wrong to have an optimistic outlook, but talk about looking at the world through rose colored glasses.
Ill admit that perhaps I am sporting sunglasses that are a shade of rose if you admit your pissing and moaning a little too much about a loss without Tony Parker in the game.
Deal ?
Crappy teams fear us !
True, Parker could have scored. But what if Timmeh is really washed up? For real.

Yea, Timmy did look like Poopoo. Lets hope he was still tired from the segababa. ( Which Im sure that was a factor )

He could have used some more elevation tonight. He just couldn’t get passed Pau.

I would like to. But I don’t think I’m pissing and moaning too much. Every game is crucial and this point, this being one of the most crucial, and the Fakers didn’t bother to play for most of the first half. We should have blown them out. Instead we allowed the reverse to happen in the 2nd half.
“Just a loss w/o TP” sounds nice, but wait and see where we are about four games into the Playoffs. Then look back on games we stupidly gave away like this one, and about a dozen others this season. And see that other than Ginobili and Hill, and maybe Blair and Bonner, we never had a chance this season.
Don’t worry, I DVRed it for him

We had so many easy missed shots and simple mistakes in the first half, and the Lakers played like absolute Roger Mason (see above).. At the end of the first Q and at half time I was telling myself we should have been up easily by at least 15. Fisher’s bullshit antics even worked against him for once.
Instead we went into the 2nd half up only 7, and promptly started playing even worse, while conversely Kobe decided to play a little bit when he needed to to actually win the game.
So did we broke the record for most comments in a game thread?

The Spurs had the Lakers IN THE EFFIN’ PENALTY with eight minutes to go. Sure. The Lakers were getting away with aggravated assault on the defensive end, but that shouldn’t mean the Spurs should be happy with launching jumpers the rest of the way.
When the Spurs’ players are not trying to drive, pull them and put players on the floor who will. Yes. I’m talking about Malik Hairston. What’s the worse he could’ve done tonight? Foul out on charging calls? Better that, than the flaccid performances of Roger Mason Jr. and Richard Jefferson.
...!!
Yeah, there was basically no penetration in the 4th. I don’t know what happened to our aggressiveness.

A good tip is to wash your mouth with some mouthwash before consuming a sourpuss, as the mouthwash doesn’t allow you to taste anything.
To serve man.
Gustatus similis pullus.
Before and after. Let me repeat that the mouthwash will not kill anything but the kindest of bacteria.
Eating something salty afterward will overpower any leftover sourpuss taste.
To serve man.
Gustatus similis pullus.
Instead of usually works pretty good for me, but thank you for the tips. I am fine with the taste for the most part though.

I know Ginobili was probably a little tired by 7 mins crunch time..but playing him tired a bit would have perhaps yielded better results than putting on the floor ALL THREE OF OUR ROGER MASON DOGSHIT PLAYERS at once +non-factor Duncan.
This is all part of Pop’s crazy plan to make casual Spurs fans kill themselves, while tricking hard core fans into thinking he’s coaching bad on purpose in order to save his secret winning plans for the playoffs, where we’re actually going to bust out in the first round just like last year, despite Ginobili brilliance, Hill’s amazing improvement, etc., so that Pop can then smirk and say something that will be perceived as clever but is actually just as smart as a seven year old, like “We didn’t put the ball in the basket. They did.”, and he still won’t be fired (4 Championships), all so he’ll be able to stroke his ego one more time, thinking “I outsmarted them all.”
Hill mostly did his part, Ginobili was great and everyone else did a whole lot of nothing. Duncan was particularly bad. If the Spurs are going to compete with elite teams, Duncan has to be on par with what he’s done during his career. Games like this one and the one against Orlando can’t happen.
Hill was locked in, until Fisher told Farmar to dominate him. Then, it was all downhill from there; pun not intended.
Once Cubits got “game-planned” out during Second Half Collapse, that’s when another Spur needed to step-up and come up big. Didn’t happen. Pop should’ve yanked Mason and Jefferson when they were giving him nothing. Then, go as far down his bench as he needs to find anyone, ANYONE willing to drive to the damn hole. Don’t think Temple and Hairston would’ve done that?
...!!
by transgojobot on Mar 24, 2010 11:54 PM CDT up reply actions
I’m a big fan of Hairston. He’s got the physical makeup to be a good defender and doesn’t force things on offense. In situations where Jefferson’s not doing anything, I’d give him the edge over Mason.
Every time Mason bricks a wide-open look, the first thing I think it’s his way of expressing dissatisfaction with not being traded."
Who wants to do a post on “Pop too dumb to let Spurs win”?
I'm not saying something is wrong, but something isn't right.
State of the team:
Jefferson Fucking Sucks, should be waived.
Mason Fucking Sucks, so bad that the refs felt sorry for him and gave him 3 free free throws on one of his joke 3’s this game.
McDyess has been a bit of a letdown (RJ makes anything seem less bad), but is still potentially a plus for us with his mental toughness, bball IQ, occasional block, and that beautiful jumper once he gets it falling again.
Popovich Really Sucks for putting this crucial game on the line at 7mins in the hands of the above despite the obvious.
Blair has a lot of skill and willpower, but is too small, and a rookie.
Duncan is old and realized long ago that the season is bust so doesn’t want to bust his body even more in an obvious losing effort (this season).
Ginobili is god, playing like it so some decent team will sign him like he deserves.
Hill actually cares about his career and improving and it shows (see: his ridiculous shoulders).
Bonner is now good and gives it his all, a definite benefit to the team.
Bogans is decent.
Parker isn’t as good as he used to be because he put too much of his energy into his wife instead of into his game. Injury prone.
Our deep bench…who knows, Pop’s not going to play them enough to find out (see Hill for most of last year).
In conclusion, if we had a coach who would make the tough but correct decision to NEVER play RJ or Mason, we would have won, and would be able to win some of these crucial games that we’ve been losing ALL SEASON LONG, and are instead continuing to lose.
I’d like to put some “energy” into Eva.

RJ was good in a few games, and we need him in a bad way this season. Parker stopped contributing anything lately. We need him at 100% for the playoffs. If we can put all our pieces together, we could be scary. But the if is big. More likely, we are going to see 1-4 1st round again. I don’t agree with Pop’s assessment at all.
We should start rebuilding around Durant
Kondor, about Tony . His dropoff is befuddling. Its almost as if he didnt play tonight.
Crappy teams fear us !
Both he and Tim carried us during last playoffs. Both disappeared lately. Tim at least makes some free throws and passes to Hill. Tony just does nothing. May be he should swap wives with Kobe? Vanessa Bryant seems to be a good motivator.
We should start rebuilding around Durant
Duncan is fine when he has some rest. He and the main guys ran out of gas in the second half tonight. Can’t blame them.
You gotta bring ass to get ass.
Was at the game tonight...
And I couldn’t tell if I was in San Antonio or L.A. I sat in section 201, next to a Lakers fan of course. And he even kept asking “where yalls fans at?” Horrible night. I dont even want to know how many open shots we missed tonight. ugh.
SKOL VIKINGS 2010!!
Yeah as a California Spurs fan, I feel ya. Every Spurs game I’ve ever been to I’ve been surrounded by people who hate me and my Ginobili jersey.
And the open shots, yes. The first half we really should have been up 15+ easy.
And that’s before Mason and his 5 missed 3’s..
For this game I put as much blame on Bonner. I think he was 1/6 on 3s in the first half. An average shooting half would’ve had us up 10. 50% on 3s and we’re up 13. But I agree overall about Mason. His play at the end of quarters is costing us points. Happened at the end of the 3rd @OKC and again tonight. When he’s not making shots he provides nothing.
The good news IMO is that we got what we wanted. Open shots and some early layups that missed. Make or miss league and it’s hard to keep making when you don’t have any legs.
You gotta bring ass to get ass.
