Oh, and there’s this:

“The 22-year old was starting to play his best basketball of the season, averaging 20.0 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.0 blocks during the Lakers’ four-game winning streak coming into Friday’s game. . .”

Excuse me whilst I go cry now.

Ya, what will you do without a frontline? All you have left is Artest, Gasol, Odom, Powell, Walton, Morrison and Ilunga-Mbenga (have to admit I know nothing about the last guy).
Poor poor you.

Nothing new here. Drew just doesn’t want to be the scapegoat for another Lakers loss, so he found himself a clever way out. He trembles at the thought of having to guard Mahinmi. :P

No doubt he heard what you guys did to the mighty Warriors.

C’mon, olf. You of all people should know the Spurs suck whenever one of the team’s best players isn’t playing :)

I appreciate you trying to make me feel better but he and Kobe are the only two Lakers that have really played well recently. Plus he’s been my favorite player for a couple of seasons now.

I was in a store last week gearing-up for the playoffs and almost bought a “Bynum #17” t-shirt but went with a generic Laker shirt instead. I just would have a hard time not feeling funny answering the front door in it.

If Kobe doesn’t play then I’ll be nervous

A good opportunity for Gasol to get more touches, as he’s been clamoring for more via the media

Tony has a broken right hand and might be gone for the rest of the season. I dont feel sorry for Andrew Bynum.

And I dont think either team will have a huge excuse for the games outcome.

The Spurs will be at home with a day of rest. Meanwhile the Lakers will have had 48 hours of rest .

Crappy teams fear us !

Not really looking for sympathy. We lost by 20 last time we were in S A so my expectations aren’t high. But we’re supposed to be rounding into playoff form these days and I don’t think our recent wins over the Twolves & Wizzlies count towards that. Anyway, wish I could watch the OKC game tonight it should be a good one.

Why don’t people that live in the Southern area of New York refer to is as SoNy?

GTFOML!

by the little o on Mar 21, 2010 11:20 PM CDT reply actions

Because to them the southern part is NY. Everything else is “Upstate”. The line for Upstate varies – it usually starts just north of whereever you live.

by swgeek on Mar 22, 2010 3:52 AM CDT up reply actions

I grew up in Illinois, which consists of Chicago and 55,000 square miles of “downstate”.

by doggydogworld on Mar 22, 2010 1:31 PM CDT up reply actions

That really confused me when I first moved to Illinois, especially when I heard Rockford referred to as “downstate”. Then it was explained to me that “downstate” referred to any portion of Illinois not in the Chicago metro area.

by CapHill on Mar 22, 2010 1:40 PM CDT up reply actions

oh right. I misremembered the answer.

So why don’t people in New York City call it SoNy?

GTFOML!

by the little o on Mar 22, 2010 3:32 PM CDT up reply actions

Especially to those in NYC that area is New York. NYC residents call everything else upstate, even westchester county. NYC is not south NY, it is NY. Actually, they have a point. Mention NY to most people and they think of the city, not the state.

by swgeek on Mar 22, 2010 4:15 PM CDT up reply actions

I love California for the weather and the people, but have to admit I really really miss NYC – used to live a little north of there but would go into the City whenever possible.
