Well, that’s depressing to read, but well thought out and possibly spot on. I tend to think that this team still has a chance with a big move or the perfect small one.

That comes closest to summing up my thoughts on the team. However, I’m not sure I’d go with “radical” change right now. Perhaps one or two KEY changes would do the trick.

My first inclination to save the season would be to make a last ditch effort at transforming back into the old spurs.
Perhaps use all of the expiring contracts in order to land a defensive big man ( Though Dice is looking alot better recently ) along with a stopper at the small forward position.
Doing this would approximate the components of every Spurs team from 1999 ….. up until this year.

Couldn’t disagree more. Getting to a championship level is beyond loading up with young talent and letting them grow and gel together over a few years. You need that singular player to put everyone and everything on his back and carry the load. In the last 20+ years every championship team save the 2004 Pistons has had this alpha dog if you will. So surrounding an aging Duncan with a bunch of young guns with good to really good potential won’t get it close to a championship. Keep the big 3 together ship out RJ and pieces for a True center and a SF.
