i think the glove was to “real” for them
i dunno
some writer at the baseline said it was because Chris Webber acted less professional around Gary Payton or somethin
Quick recap: 9-0 lead evaporates because RJ can’t get back on defense and missed a dunk to top it off. Second quarter lead evaporates because RJ can’t hit an open shot. Oh, and to be fair because Manu allowed SV to walk into an open 3 that gave him confidence to make two more shots. And we can’t make a 3. Sound about right?
You gotta bring ass to get ass.
No… I think this might be a nice even smear of crap.

are you new here? we actually don’t use the little box to write… or maybe you just like to be different, which I fully respect.
Belgian Malinois.
You know what this dog does? It works. It works as a bomb sniffing dog, as a protection dog, as a tracking dog, as a sentry dog, as a military dog, as a police dog. It works and it just does it. It’s its genes to want to work. If you have the dog as a pet and don’t give it work, it will destroy your house or develop neurotic behaviors.
It doesn’t get paid 14 million a year. It’s happy to just do the fucking work that’s required. It doesn’t whine about conditions, it doesn’t have excuses, it works.
Does it always work perfectly? No. Dogs can make mistakes too, but it never gives up working. It does what it was trained to do and will do it until it’s told.
This has nothing to do with any player, just explaining the breed.

It could either not be a good Belgian Malinois, so it didn’t high drive or begin with. Or one day it will snap and bite somebody because it’s bored out of its mind. These dogs don’t have “off” switches, they always have to do something.

Oh, and for whoever was wondering about Chuck sounding drunk earlier—my theory is that he is on some heavy duty medication. Blah blah blah.
I have flying monkeys at my disposal, and I'm not afraid to use them.
I didn’t mean just this time, just every now and then, sometimes worse than others. Does pain medication give the same red-eyed drunk look? Thought it just does the slurred speech.
Pop surprises me. He’s stubborn, moody and you never know whom he might put in. Yet he won’t give Hairston or Finley a few punishment minutes over RJ. No more coddling Jefferson. He either toughens up or doesn’t play.
You gotta bring ass to get ass.
Has anyone thought that it would be insane for the spurs to waive richard jefferson? I mean he isn’t any better than malik or ian mahinmi. Plus we wouldn’t have to deal with him anymore.

I’m comparing RJ to Roy Williams(WR) for the Cowboys. We are paying him a shitload of money to do absolutely nothing. He is 1/8 from the floor and playing as good of defense as Ian (not even playing) I am getting more and more fucking pissed every time I watch him play…

I’m still wondering why we didn’t resign Bowen after he got waived. When we traded him I was a nervous and always thought it was our plan to get him back. Though he’s older, he’d still be worth it just for a few key defensive possessions per game.
I don’t really know how the cap works.. So you mean we couldn’t get him because we didn’t want to pay a couple mil salary and more cap tax? Or we actually couldn’t get him for some technical reason?

Hes the only one who is really able to score consistently. Parker had his moments. Dice was great on the boards, but the matchups didn’t allow for him to do much. If Bynum were available, it might be easier.

we’re – at best – going 4-4 in this RRT. We will not get any more rings in the Duncan era… no effing way!
We cannot shoot, we cannot pass, we cannot defend, our small forward is probably one of the biggest waste of NBA talent right now, our PG sucks, our two guard is old, our PF has fallen off, our coach is senile AND for god sakes WHY THE HELL IS MICHAEL FINLEY STILL PLAYING?
We suck, this season is a bust. Dump the championship aspirations and maybe they’ll become entertaining to watch again.

I don’t see it. 3-0 vs Clippers, 2-0 vs Hornets and still have home games against both Houston and Memphis. Plus those teams all play each other. They’ll make it, perhaps in spite of themselves but they’ll be there.
You gotta bring ass to get ass.
wouldn’t it be sweet to beat the Fakers in the 1st round as an 8th seed? too bad it’s not gonna happen though.
Would be sweet like if a bag of money fell out of the sky and landed in the back of my truck. Also like that, never going to happen.
I’d take playing well together, on both ends, like a real team. At least then we’d know what this team is capable of on the good end.

Bye guys. I basically wasted half the day for this and the loss is gonna leave a bitter taste until the end of the day. I hate it that this season, a lot of games end in such a gut-wrenching fashion, it’s like being a vampire on an all-you-can-stake buffet at a slayer’s convention.
There is no need to wonder when the Spurs are going to turn it around because you can’t when your leader is the dumbest person in the arena.
What kinda fool creates bad match ups against his own team?
Why was Bonner playing Odom? Blair on Gasol?
Small ball against the best offensive rebounding teams in the league?
I knew Pop was bad, but this MF has taken it too a whole new level. There is absolutely no coach in the NBA F*()@ up like this.
He should be fired IMMEDIATELY.
My girlfriend sees me suffering so much over the Spurs this year and says I need to start rooting for Portland.
I wish I could.
At least I could feel a lot worse, if I had gone to this game like I’d planned. But the Clippers game would have been fun…
Remember when we played them two days ago and dominated? What happened? Oh right, they’re terrible and the Kobe/Bynum-less Lakers are still decent.
This all is because of the schedule. Why cannot we play New Jersey, Clippers and Minnesota every other game? Why cannot we play Eastern teams more often? I’d rather play Indiana than Utah 4 times in a season. Why we have two less home games than Lakers every season?
Damn Stern, he just hates us.
well, we are 13-5 against the east and I don’t think we lost to any teams I mentioned this season. much better than we played against the west (16-15), especially Utah and Portland (0-6).
Okay, nobody’s here anymore, but I have a story for any stragglers.
Had a midterm this morning — stayed up late to study and got something in the neighborhood of four hours of sleep. Not fun. The midterm went pretty atrociously, had a mental block on much of it. More class until 4 pm, got home, studied for 4 hours or so for another class. Turned on the spurs game burnt out by homework. Steadily felt the loss coming on, so I ordered some chinese comfort food. Ate about 3/4 of it before realizing that they had got my order wrong and given me the chicken rice dish instead of the veggie rice dish.
It was a new dish, so I hadn’t tried it yet and thus assumed the ridiculously weird taste was the spices. I’m a vegetarian who has never eaten meat in his life, ‘cause my parents were hippies. Currently I am experiencing some of the worst pain I’ve ever felt, because my stomach can’t effectively digest meat so it’s just producing massive amounts of toxic acid. And I got a big midterm on wednesday, can’t sleep due to the massive pain, can’t throw up because I haven’t in 7 years and can’t get myself to gag it up, and my lakers-fan friend called me up an hour ago high as a kite to leave this massive gloating message on my answering machine.
Anyway, today sucked. I hope everyone else had decent days outside of that atrocity of a game. Pop and I are hogging all the bad karma, you can’t have it.
Man, I hope you feel better soon. I had some Thai food yesterday, but thankfully I’m not a vegetarian, lol. I’m also dealing with school crap. I had an essay due at midnight, so I finished just in time for the Spurs to officially take a dump on my face. Now I’m here because I’m a masochist and figured that reading a losing game thread is a good break from studying for my history exam tomorrow morning. On Weds., I have the 1st part of a 2 part calculus II exam, Thurs a govt. exam, and finally Friday the 2nd half on that good ol’ calculus.

Damn man, sorry to hear that. But I’ve actually been in the same situation. Been vegetarian my whole life, never eaten meat, and now vegan the last five years. Some years ago I worked at a coffee shop that also sold microwaveable burritos. We had veggie ones and chicken ones. I tried the veggie one one time on my break. Sitting there eating, not paying much attention (I eat too fast), about 3/4 done eating it, my coworker comes by and says, “You know that’s chicken.” Like you, having never eaten meat why would I ever think there would be meat in my food. I assumed it was tofu something or another. Turns out the company would not too uncommonly on accident get random chicken burritos in the veggie burrito box, as this ended up happening with customers on several occasions, until we stopped carrying them.
I felt really sick and tried to puke it up, but also like you I had almost never thrown up, so I wasn’t able to and ended up coughing up blood. No joke.
I remember that day as not one of my happiest.
Anyway I just found the similarities in our stories striking. I feel for you.
The Spurs sucking so much this year is like a metaphor for all the constant bad luck in my life.
At least my Lakers fan friend didn’t call or text me to gloat tonight.
Keep on truckin’.
Are you guys vegetarian out of conviction now or just inertia?
"If an expert says it can't be done, get another expert"
- DBG
Conviction. As I said above, I’ve been vegetarian my whole life, and started transitioning to being vegan (no animal products at all, dairy, etc.) 10+ years ago, after starting to realize how intricately linked the meat and dairy industries are. Started by switching from milk to soy and eventually gave up cheese as well (which was the one thing that I thought would keep me from becoming completely vegan). Been totally vegan for 5 years now and couldn’t be happier. Now cheese disgusts me almost as much as meat always did. I eat pretty simply, but there’s an endless amount of good vegan foods.
Heh, I’ve fallen off the wagon the last 2 years. Perhaps I should go back… the guilt is eating me alive.
Don't compare RJ to Sean unless he's coming up clutch while playing with a failing kidney.
I went back to being a vegetarian this year. The “you taste good, so I’m going to kill you” justification just wasn’t working for me anymore.
I have flying monkeys at my disposal, and I'm not afraid to use them.
Rationally, that excuse shouldn’t work for me. But god damn meat tastes awesome.
To serve man.
Gustatus similis pullus.
It’s understandable. Eventually comes down to whether you want to follow your taste desires, or your head/heart.
Interesting thing that I noticed though, is that at first what is tough because of habit, if you can bring forth the will to try changing it for a while, eventually becomes second nature.
The first couple weeks being vegan, eating burritos and sandwiches w/o cheese or sour cream was a little tough. But not as hard as I thought. Then pretty quick I realized I actually felt better after a meal, more energized and less gonna-sit-down-and-pass-out than if I had a stomach full of cheese. (I’ve heard people get the same feeling after eating a lot of meat.)
Now through slowly changing my eating habits, my desires have changed as well. I don’t crave cheese, instead I see it and especially milk as a whole lot of acne causing, hormone filled cow puss. Meat is even more clear to me: It is a formerly living, breathing animal’s corpse. It’s pretty much the same to me as when I see road kill.
Fast Food Nation is a pretty great book. Not strictly anti-meat, but shows a lot of what the whole fast food and meat industries do, and is an easy entertaining read.
Anyway, thanks for the responses here. I don’t usually bring this kind of thing up as people often have really hard set ideas.
