poll: (not so) great expectations
after watching (only) the 4th quarter of the kings game (thanks for that league pass!), and now the portland game, i started wondering what my expectations are now for the spurs for the remainder of the season. i'm sure we're all disappointed with how things have gone so far, and maybe they'll suddenly pull their finger out and figure it all out, but i'm starting to have a bad feeling about it all.
so, given that, what are your expectations for the rest of the season? what do you feel is a realistic result now? when the season started i wasn't as confident as some around these parts (i've never really rated jefferson), but i did think if the guys gelled we could challenge the lakers for best in the west. to my mind thats now impossible - if we haven't gotten it going by now, i don't see it happening with the team as currently constructed (rodeo trip or no rodeo trip). i also don't see a silver bullet out there to fix this via a trade - its the defense where we're suffering, and no single trade is really going to fix that. to my mind, we're heading for a low seeding and a first round exit. 50 wins? maybe....maybe. but who cares in that case?
what say you?

One and Done!
If you don’t have at least one player that can defend the rim, you can’t win a championship and you won’t win many games either, especially against any of the teams that have players who can attack the rim off the dribble.
This is why Utah beat us 4 times (D Williams)
Portland 3 times (Andre Miller and Bayless)
Chicago 2 times (D Rose)
If you can’t guard the rim in the NBA you don’t win much.
I couldn’t read you, I’m too busy thinking of our chapionship.
