I've been spending some time on the trade machine, as I'm sure many of you have, and I can't help but have a gut feeling that a trade is imminent. Personally, I think we need a reliable big, but I don't think it will happen. What I think we need doesn't matter, there are a million threads on that, this thread is for the trades that are realistically most likely to happen.

I think this trade could realistically happen, very well within the next 24hours to a week. If you can't open the link, its Roger Mason and Matt Bonner to Sacramento for Beno Udrih's now overpaid ass plus Omri Casspi. This qualifies as a realistic trade for a couple of reasons. For one, Casspi is a get, and he is included in this trade because the Kings would have to give us SOMETHING good for taking the 6mil/3yrs left of Beno's contract, and Casspi, while a value, is signed for 2 years. Therefore, Sacramento can clear 7 mil in contracts off their books with our expiring contracts. Oh ya, and for the Kings, Mase and Bonner are considered a veteran presence. 

Furthermore, Mason got a DNP-CD against Portland tonight and so did Beno last night when we played the Kings. Also, this theory would be substantiated by the rumor that the Sacramento announcer mentioned last night that we'd be getting a SF and a backup PG. I tried making a realistic trade using that rumor and Sacramento was the only team that really worked. The Spurs would pursue this because we typically reserve a spot at the end of our bench for "old-reliable" kind of PG, and as a 3rd stringer Beno is not so bad to come in if there is an injury or if we need a PG out there that'll know the system (I threw that in for you proponents of the corporate knowledge theory). Casspi is the reason we do it, he's an oversized hustle SF who can post up... in other words, when pop insists on small ball, HE can play the 4 and RJ can stay at the 3!

This isn't the trade I would make as GM, but this seems like a trade the spurs would make, its subtly very savvy and probably wouldn't make the first 30 min of Sports Center which is why I have this gut feeling its going to happen. Any other realistic trades?
