There have been several post on whether or not the Spurs should move up in the draft or just keep our #20 pick and just hope for the best.
In my opinion we should try to move up either by trading our own picks or players and some dough. Our biggest need which probably will be a shock to most of you is a shoot-blocking 7 footer. I know almost had a heart attack for a second there. One guy in the draft that's 7ft and a great shot-blocker is Hassan Whiteside. He is averaging 5.5 blocks a game. Amazing i know plus he is a great finisher around the rim. In defence draftexpress.com says he has alot of potential. The Mock draft has him going at #10 by the Clippers but they have big men already. Last year they had log jam at the foward-center position so do they need another. Maybe we can persuade them with a draft-pick or two and some expiring contracts. Also another shot-blocking big we could use is Ekpe Udoh. Hes got a cool name and he has amazing shot-blocking abilities. The draft has him at #15 but again the Rockets are a team that do they really need another big? Yao is injury plagued so their is a chance they might draft Ekpe but again can the Spurs pursuade them?
