Post Trade Deadline/Thursday Night Loser Thread
Well, the trade deadline came and went with zero significant action in Spurs Land. There were a few exciting moves around the league. The Mavs and Rockets probably both got better. Maybe? I'm thinking we finish 3rd or lower in the Southwest now.
That being said, we do have two nationally televised games tonight. The Cleveland Cavaliers, fresh off of landing Antawn Jamison, host Carmelo, Chauncey and the Thuggets tonight. Following right after, The Lakers host the Celtics. Both games are on TNT. Who's tonight's biggest loser? Vote!

So are you Spur people rooting for the Cavs or Nuggs?
The Lakers "Too big, too strong, too long, too good."
I go with Nuggs. As for the Bos-LA game… I think the Celts are finished.

Cavs. A Nuggs loss can only be our gain, even if we are tonight’s biggest losers.

I really love Melo’s game. He’s a much more skilled offensive player than LeBron can ever be.

not if you take into account passing.

Yeah but you know, Melo’s jumper is better, and his back-to-the-basket game is more advanced.

lol, announcers telling JR Smith to be smart. Apparently, they haven’t seen him play before.
Don't compare RJ to Sean unless he's coming up clutch while playing with a failing kidney.
I don’t think there’s a player that better personifies the term wild card.

I was wondering the same thing.
Don't compare RJ to Sean unless he's coming up clutch while playing with a failing kidney.
I’m thinking still hasn’t passed the medical.
By the way, Kelly Dwyer didn’t like the trade. Jamison’s 34 and has a pretty big contract.

I’m kinda “meh” on it. I definitely don’t think it helps them defensively.

So does the Ama’re trade. But its potential for ultra-explosive offense makes me quack in my boots.

Yeah, the floor spacing is gonna be ridiculous. And it’s not like ’Tawn is terrible on D. Or, they could even go to a “giant ball” lineup without losing anything:
Williams
Lebron
Jamison
Varejao/Hickson
Shaq
Don't compare RJ to Sean unless he's coming up clutch while playing with a failing kidney.
Yeah, I’m dreading our games against Cleveland… Brown is going to pwn us if he goes to that type of lineup.

I would say “so does Blair”, but who can argue with DeJuan’s happiness?
Don't compare RJ to Sean unless he's coming up clutch while playing with a failing kidney.
Melo smirks, mostly when he scores over someone, but even when someone scores over him. Blair smiles after one of his teammates does a ridiculously good play. Their reasons are different.

I think C’s Blog is one of the most traffic’d blogs on SBN, possibly #1 for basketball. Does anyone know the reals stats on that? I wonder where PTR ranks.

Perk in both cases. He locks down the paint as well as anyone in the league.

I agree. Perkins will never be the offensive player Bynum is though, and Bynum has all the tools (except brain) to be as good a defensive player as Perkins. But one would think that by now, Bynum would have shown more than just flashes of being a good defender, so I’ll go with Perkin also.

I’m out. Goodnight.
wow
i really thought we would get ty thomas!
we traded theo for nothing(just for luxury tax to lessen)
i hate that trade cuz i really think theo is such skilled veteran that knows what to do in the paint and surely is a better shot blocker other than the guy named tim duncan!
and his a guy that can alternate shot And help timmy get some rest.
i guess and i hope a better trade would happen by june
and i really hope we didn’t have any for chemistry-glue the team purposes.
and i really hope after all star weekend we would start a 10 game and hopefully 20 game winning streak!
praying for it!
hoping that if rj off the bench would ave. his ave. now,
cuz if not it just means,
its just worst.
plus i made a fanpost of line ups, highlighting a theo-duncan duo…man that was shattered!
