Here's a trade scenario I would love to see happen though it is just me dreaming.
I think this would be a great trade in my opinion. We get rid of RJ's bad contract but in return we get a star in Danny Granger and he could be our SF for several years while we get a young, athletic power forward in Tyrus Thomas while getting a reliable big in Troy Murphy. Though I wouldn't really see the Pacers doing this unless they just want to shed come cap and get rid of Grangers long-term contract. Also most likely the Pacers could waive Bonner and he could resign with the Spurs. Note this is just to appease you Bonner loving fans.
Or heres another scenario http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yz4gs3v Why would the Pacers do this well if RJ doesn't opt in next season they can save 15 million and they can also waive Bonner to save money. The Bulls get a veteran big and a shooter in Mason who will get the minutes he wants while Finley can also be waived. This trade not only sets us up pretty good at the SF and SG position but we also have a young forward in Thomas and a big in Murphy. Not only that but Granger,Salmons, and Murphy can all shoot the 3 so we won't be losing a big who can spread the court we will just be making an upgrade. Not to mention if Bonner or Finley is waived we can always sign them back for even less so its a win win situation.
Our roster will look something like this
PG: Tony Parker, George Hill
SG: John Salmons, Manu Ginobli, Keith Bogans
SF: Danny Granger, Malik Hairston, Michael Finley(note he could and most likely could be waived)
PF: Tim Duncan, Blair, Ian Mahinmi
Center: Troy Murphy, Tyrus Thomas, Theo Ratliff
This will basically give us an even better SG rotation in my opinion while at the SF we got two young guns and have a star in Granger while we have a work in progress in Hairston. At the frontcourt we have Duncan and Murphy plus their backups will include the Beast and athletic, shot-blocking big Thomas with shot-blocking specialist Ratliff and young Mahinmi as benchwarmers.
