Spurs' Gregg Popovich rethinks Pau Gasol deal
"They gave up a great player but it helped them extend the franchise's success into the future," Popovich said. "It's shown that they've done a good job. Whatever they were thinking a couple of iterations ahead at the time has paid off for them."

As it appears, like many other Spurs fans, I have no comment.

As is always the way, the outlandish false charges get much more coverage than the sheepish retraction ever does.
Which of these things is not like the others? 15 NBA Championships, most wins in NBA history, current NBA champions, lost by 20 to the F'ing Spurs.

I have to admit the trade has evened out somewhat. Of course all is going to be in the Lakers favor again when they trade a declined Pau to the Grizzlies for Marc in his prime.

What did I miss? Did Marc Gasol get named to the all-star team?
We specialize in misinformation around here. Facts and stats just get in the way.

At the time “Popovich. . .called the trade that sent Gasol to the Lakers for draft picks and salary-cap flexibility an incomprehensible deal.” Well now he seems to be “comprehensing” it.
“Popovich now concedes Memphis also made out good in the deal.” and “Obviously, the decision they (the Grizzlies) made then has served them well. . .”, etc. etc.
It is coming up now because the 2yr anniversary of the trade just passed and the Lakers just played lost to the Grizz.

“I’ll buy your house for a dollar.”
“What? No way! Are you crazy?”
“I’ll buy your house for a dollar, and you better accept it.”
“Or what?”
“Or I’ll reveal those pictures of you…”
“Fine!”
“Sucka…”
“Oh my god the coin you gave turned out to be extremely rare and worth a million dollars!”
“I totally knew that from the beginning, see, it was a fair trade after all.”
To serve man.

See I am just reporting Pop’s change of attitude. You’ll have to direct any follow-up questions or comments to him. (Lucky for you I hear he’ll be in town this weekend.)
