Some awesome playoff type wins already this season. ORL. @NOLA. @DEN. This team can find a group on any given night that creates a huge mismatch or out-works the opponent or just has a hot hand. They can dominate any one quarter to either come from behind or just hit the accelerator and pull away.
Thank you SF Giants for an incredible 2010 season and painting the City orange & black!
You gotta bring ass to get ass.
I vow to never mention "playoffs" and "49ers" together again until we have a "quarterback."
Yes. A testament to the team’s versatility, but also Pop’s coaching.

Seems like if they can keep games close and manage to hold the other teams to just sub-20-point quarter a game (while scoring over 25 points at the same time), they have a reliable formula for winning most games.

2 things I noticed
1: They’re not gunna call those swinging arm offensive fouls in these games. Nene had another obvious one tonight, and Manu got away with a bad one on Birdman.
2: We gotta call Neal ‘The Rubber Man’ coz he just bounces back everytime. Dude gets posterized by Smith, dude comes down and nails a three. Tonight, bogus fould call, dude hits a three next possession. Dude falls over on an awkward defensive play, comes down and hits a three. I was gutted when we dropped Penney for him, but now, I couldn’t be happier.
"Are you gunna bite all day little doggie, or are you gunna bite?"
Neal is tough, confident, and has no fear. No wonder that Pop loves him.

Okay I have to admit, I had a real bad feeling this game as things started to go down hill during the third. But I didn’t go with that thought, remembering all the times we’ve fought back.
Well some how we did it again. I’m just kind of in awe right now. Manu. Gary Neal. These guys rocked this shit when we needed it most.

What I’m loving about the 4th quarter is 1) that reversion to the mean hit the Nuggets’ FG% with a vengeance, and helped the Spurs lift the lid over the basket on their end; and 2) the Spurs bench was largely responsible for erasing the nine-point deficit. Scary good, scary deep.

That Bonner three from way out near the start of the 4th was huge.
And Manu’s trademark dagger three out of the fast break chaos.
And Gary Neal’s…..pretty much everything.
Manu’s dagger three… the Nuggets dared him to shoot it, gave him so much time and space he could’ve waited until the shot clock ran all the way down

I’m not familiar with the Raiders, so why would it be an insult to be likened to them? Anyone care to enlighten me?
Many NFL fans like to hate the Raiders. They are known as kind of a dirty team. Also, they have a reputation for building their squads with other teams’ misfits and cast-offs. Lots of their fans go to the game wearing leather and spikes. You know, that kind of stuff. They have this kind of biker gang persona. They also have an owner who is kind of eccentric, and who actually coached the team at one time.
Basically they are nothing like the Spurs.

It would be very surprising that NEal would be third or second,ok fourth in a ROY especially if he plays for a winning team and he’s a bench player.
That's Manu Ginobili and his winning SMILE!
He is currently the 6th or 7th leading scorer among rookies while his average is under 8. At the moment there are only 4 rookies averaging double figures. Griffin is averaging over 20 and Wall nearly 17, but Cousins is averaging under 12 while coming off the bench as often as not and Fields is averaging barely over 10. While Neal getting in the top 4 may be a long shot, it is not a real strong group of rookies.
BAM is totally in full effect. When George and James get back it will be even better.
"I've got Tim (Duncan) and you don't. That's the difference." -Gregg Popovich
I’m still so sad about James. He showed such great potential before the injury.
Free Tiago Splitter!
around Jan. in the shoot around he seems to be hurting. IDK about the condition, but I want his three ball and defense,if he can comeback like GHILL bounce back after being absent for 2 or 3 gaems——-GHILL wa son fire and I wish both would be when they come back both on 3’s and d’s
That's Manu Ginobili and his winning SMILE!
I want a rotation of George, Anderson, Splitter, Neal, Bonner, and McDyess for the close matches. Quinn misses out. And Udoka gets to hand out the towels.

I’m sorry, but there is no need to outshine the dunk. That guy put his body on the line for the Silver and Black. That play means more to me than any one individual 3 he’s hit.

That was his point. He was asked if winning tonight outshines the sting of getting dunked on, and he basically said “Yeah, two wins outshine the dunk.”
Means to me that he cares more about playing to win than avoiding potential embarrassment. And you’re 100% right about him putting his body on the line; I wrote after that game that he was only a half-step late coming over from the other side of the basket to try to draw the charge, and that it would be counterproductive to tease him about the play. He did the right thing by trying to take the charge and deserves applause, not razzing, for it.

The only folks who would mock Neal for that play know nothing about basketball. Everybody in the NBA gets dunked on once in a while. You can stand and watch, or you can try to get in position to draw the charge. A good player does the latter. Period.
And I completely agree with Parkes. That moment shows what Neal’s made of. His ego is put aside and he’s doing everything he can to take one for the team. Like I say, this guy is much more than just a great shooter.

Wally Pipp sat out a game with an injury, giving Lou Gehrig his first start leading into 2,130 consecutive games played (though the streak officially started one game earlier with a pinch hit appearance). The record until Cal Ripken, jr passed it with 2,632.
That’s the most familiar version of the story. The truth is a bit more prosaic (as it often is)—Pipp had been slumping, so Yankees manager Miller Huggins decided to try a different line-up. Gehrig was one of four younger players inserted as part of Huggins’ strategy.
Pipp suffered a fractured skull when he was hit by a pitch roughly a month later, and over the years the two stories have converged to create an enduring cautionary tale. “Wally Pipp” has become a punchline of sorts, serving as shorthand to describe a scenario in which an injury to an established player allows a hungry young athlete to take over the starting position for keeps.
I have flying monkeys at my disposal, and I'm not afraid to use them.
Eh, I dunno but I just read the movies synopsis, and I certainly hope Hill isnt deathly ill.
