RJ just missed a double-double by one board.
TD did get another double-double.
Manu had 26 points and the game-winner.
Parker had 8 assists to go with his 16 points.
Surprisingly, the bench wasn’t as dominant

George looked really bad out there for some reason. And Dejuan’s D left a lot to be desired. We’ll take the win though.

Guards maybe bothered by Bogut inside. Not sure what’s up with DeBeast, wasn’t thrilled with him trying the Euro two-step again and failing… twice.

Looked like a travel to me, you can see the step on his left foot then the jump back, but then again, I’m not complaining.
Coach Skiles thinks it’s a travel and should have been called.

It’s not a travel because he only had one hand on the ball, therefor he is mid dribble, when he pushed off with his left foot to initiate the jump stop. It just looks like a travel cause he was going backwards but it is technically the same as performing a forwards jump stop mid dribble.
by turnitin.com on Dec 16, 2010 3:44 AM CST up reply actions
you can get a clear look in the side view portion of the GIF that he did not technically pick up his dribble prior to jumping

As predicted, the Knicks-Celtics game comes before the Spurs-Bucks game. (Bruce Bowen says the Knicks are back, btw.) As does the Rangers-Penguins contest. And Bob Feller’s passing. Then, they get to the Spurs. At least it came before the Cavs-Heat game. I’m surprised. :)

btw, this is probably less of an example of Manu The Anomaly and more one of the inadequacy of stat lines to capture the importance of a players impact on a game. Anyone who watched the game would say that, despite his mistakes (e.g. 4 turnovers), Manu was the man of the game. Not just the game-winner, but a critical three late in the 4th quarter, key assist to Parker, etc.

I thought I was going to get hit in the face several times, but it was all worth it when Manu hit the game-winner, and their heads exploded… all except one, the one right next to me, who had missed it. She screamed “what happened?!?” and I turned to her, very seriously, and said “Manu happened.”

They said Manu was 6 for 33 in last second shots at the ends of games with 1 or fewer points separation. They showed the Bucks beating the Mavs, then Manu’s buzzer-beater again, then moved quickly to the Cavs-Heat.

Hey Mavs, ask the 2009-2010 Spurs how the whole “blowing big leads and barely slithering by” thing goes.

Also, if someone could make a Manu “deal with it” gif for Bogut’s sake, that would be awesome.

DeJuan Blair said he tweaked his right knee. Docs didn’t think it serious enough to X-ray. He expects to play in Denver. #spurs

Good news. Hope it doesn’t swell up and that he’s good to go in Denver.

Wow, that’s a surprise. Maybe Manu got it because it was a true buzzer beater… Pierce’s shot left 0.4 on the clock. If Amar’e had gotten his shot off in time, that would probably have gotten the SportsCenter #1

And Manu was Bruce’s Hoop Hero tonight. The other guy chose… Amar’e. What a tool.

You mean about them looking at Manu’s play about five times and saying that it was a travel? That’s pretty bold — or stupid — of him, since you know that tons of people are looking at the play on ESPN tonight. I guess you see what you want to see…

Wow, watching Pop’s post-game interview, he seems pretty upset about the way they let the Bucks back into the game and had to pull it out for a ‘lucky’ win.

I’ve got the shot from the opposite angle in my photo post.

Your pic of the shot is better imho…. Luc looks like a ballet dancer in that one. And since he’s not looking at Manu, but in your camera’s direction instead, it made me wonder how badly Manu’s jump-back move faked him out.
