Disinterested maybe? Plus the Hawks have looong arms. Too many turnovers due to active hands of the Hawks.

He took a lot of ball movement stopping shots. It was a very un-smart game played by him. It’s like Hill stole his powers.

Some more stats, Spurs 3 pt FG% improved from 40% in the 1st half to 48% for the entire game. Hawks got worse, from 57% down to 50%.
ATL FG% actually improved from 42% to 45%, Spurs FG% got slightly worse, from 57% at the half to 53% for the whole game.
Spurs edge on the boards disappeared by the end of the game, but they got 12 assists in the 2nd half vs. 8 in the first.

I’d love to know too. although I don’t spend much time in the Phil. How much is it per month? Is it purely online or does Sky give you an extra channel? If online, how good of an internet connection do you need to make it worthwhile?
My dad is trying the NBA premium channel thing that BTV’s offering, but maybe he should get league pass if it’s cheap.

Oh, and ILP is just purely online. TD21 hooks it up to his HDTV, I think, which maximizes the experience. Also, you really need an internet plan that’s more than the standard package to be able to view the 3k kbps. I’m on the 999 Smart plan and I can only go 800 kbps for most games.

I don’t really go that often to Manila although I have family there. Kapag umuuwi ako, I fly to my hometown.
Sucks about ILP being all online. That’s what I told my father but I was hoping I was wrong. I doubt our connection at home is good enough to handle ILP. I guess we’ll have to make do with that premium channel.

I don’t think we can choose. I think they already have set games. But at least there’s like 3 or 4 games shown each day, just that maybe some days if they do show the Spurs, it might not be live.
My brother got to watch the game live today on the premium channel—something that rarely occurs with BTV alone.haha

I see, although sadly I’m not too optimistic about Spurs games always being included in those 3-4 games per day package.
Sulit ang ILP sakin, and if you get the premium one (I only have the standard) even better since there’s no 24-hour limit to watch the previous day’s games.

Yes. Totally, totally worth it. I’ve been able to watch nearly every game, even when I get home way late.
What I just don’t understand is the “blackout” for NBATV games. Games on MSG, YES, ESPN and TNT I understand. But NBATV isn’t doing an original broadcast. They’re just showing the territorial broadcast from whoever the home team is; a League Pass game in HD. It’s why I couldn’t even watch a replay of last Sunday’s Hornets beatdown. ::pout::
Also, the stream quality of LP broadband is just stellar. Aaaaand I just jinxed my replay for this Sunday afternoon’s game.

Someone else is probably a lot more qualified to comment on this. In fact I think I read this in a comment before I got broadband LP and dual monitors myself (it was a gift).
Anyway, two monitors doesn’t solve it, really. Unless you have a program or good drivers that let you keep a screen full-sized, every time you click away from the NBA game it goes to half-size! So another solution is needed to get it the way you really want (i have yet to find this solution).
I can see both. That’s not the problem. It’s the lag of the League Pass feed.

I’m not going to worry too much about &erson’s stroke getting rusty… it’s more a conditioning thing, but I think he’ll have enough time before the playoffs. Worst comes to worst, Pop could assign him to play a few games in Austin to get back into game shape.

I guess we’re going to have to get used to Pop’s Spurs 2.0 scoring points in bunches…. when they move the ball. I’ve noticed Bonner making that extra pass to RJ 2.0 in the corner for the past few games… it works great because Matt is such a threat behind the arc that RJ’s defender has to come flying at him, and that gives the Spurs a wide open corner three.

Well he needs to do that. That way team defenses have to think more about rotating out to him the way they do. Thus it opens up the possibility for more shots by him as well.
Moreover, and most important, Bonner doesn’t take the shot driving to the basket. The second gif posted here may be my favorite this season, as much as I hate to see Bonner driving any closer than he did to the basket. Hopefully teams keep collapsing in to guard him when he “drives” or whatever you want to call what he does when he takes more than one dribble to the basket.
btw, what happened to all the fast-break points? Did we use up this game’s quota in the Warriors game? Were the Hawks getting back and contesting better? Were our guys not pushing the ball up the floor (as Sean was saying)? A couple of easy fast-break buckets would’ve made the three-fest in the fourth quarter unnecessary.

I think aside from the fact that the Hawks have long arms and are really getting back on defense, the Spurs lacked ball movement and are a bit sloppy. Good thing they woke up just in time to launch those bombs. The end result is a “W”.

Maybe they just did enough to stay in the game for the first three quarters and then realized that the game is not gonna be given to them that easy. Not to mention that Johnson is out. This is really a winnable game for us and they proved that we’re the best right now. Let’s build on this one and start another double-digit winning streak.

They have to because their offense has seen little slumps that need defense to carry them through those portions.
We’ll need sharp defense come playoff time. Potent offense alone won’t do. A lot of teams tried being just an offensive juggernaught in the playoffs. How did those teams fare again?
You know, I was playing basketball at the rec tonight and talking with some friends of mine (I know, I should have been here on the game thread, but I was detoxing after taking a final exam lol), and it was really hard to stay humble when talking about the Spurs. I’ve never had that issue this early in the season, but even while the mainstream media continues to hide from the fact that SA is out for blood this season, it makes me so proud to know that lots of people are taking notice of the greatness that’s been there all along in the Alamo City.
Sorry, just in one of those moods—this team has always made me so proud, and this year is no exception. I take no win for granted—and am enjoying the hell out of this ride.

Good win Spurs. it looked iffy out there for a while but we pulled through. Sorry I couldn’t be more involved in the thread but I had some stuff to work out with the girlfriend. Great job by the team.
"I've got Tim (Duncan) and you don't. That's the difference." -Gregg Popovich
Just so I have it straight. You are working things out with your girlfriend, and while you two are having a serious conversation you are also watching the game and occasionally posting on the thread. Do I have it correct?
Lauri: thank goodness I have you magnificent bastards to waste [the offseason] with.
Very gutsy Popovich tonight. Almost cheeky. His unrenewable resources are Duncan Dice and Manu, and like a miser he resents having to spend those minutes at all. Well, Tim played 28 minutes, Manu 25, and Dice 14 (avg. is 18).
The Hawks never got much of a lead, but it was close the whole game – takes guts to write that strategy and stick to it.
This is part of the reason why Splitter doesn’t get in unless Bonner and Blair both have issues. For the most part Bonner is playing well and Blair is starting to look like what they expected. If both continue this, Duncan and Dice can sit out even more and Splitter will steal 10-12 of their combined minutes.
Great thing about this game: Manu had one of his worst games of the season, and he still managed to lead* the Spurs in scoring!
Crazy talented team we have here, fellas.
*RJ also had 18.
Hi All!
What time does the game start again?

Sometimes I sooooo wanna do a late-night replay game-thread.

Hear hear. Watching the replay right now, but skipped the 3rd quarter.
