For me, other than Duncan’s triple double, the most impressive stat is we scored 118 while shooting ONLY 33% from 3.
Bonner with the nice box out!
the 31 free throws were nice

and we held Ellis to 12.

Even more impressive, the Spurs only made 7 triples, I believe two under their average per game.

If we include the +/- stat, Timmy has a quadruple-double. Pretty nice for an old man.

Surprised that RJ 2.0 was the only starter with a negative plus-minus (-5). Actually, he and Splitter were the only Spurs with negative plus-minuses… and I felt both played pretty well.
All Warriors players had negative plus-minus values… that’s domination.

What I just don’t like in him is that sometimes he’s forcing the issue once he gets the offensive board and this leads to a block against him or a turnover. The better thing to do is just kick out the ball and setup a play because the team has a fresh shot clock. Just my two cents..

Yeah, that sucks! All that they talk about is the mediocrity of the Heat right now when in fact the Spurs are the ones who should be making the news. Well, what’s new? They’re the San Antonio Spurs and they’re always under the radar.

I felt the same way. I was shocked at my total. Tweeting about the games and prepping for the podcast with SiMA while watching the game was taking so much time that it took forever for me to find myself on the list because I was certain I’d be down at the bottom. I scanned it twice before finally looking higher up.
Weird.

Wish I could have seen this one live—I may treat myself to the ILP replay tonight.
I have flying monkeys at my disposal, and I'm not afraid to use them.
Do it. It’s not often that we see TD get a triple double.

I like the Warriors so much. They are the best match up for the Spurs, ever. Go Spurs, go!
"We lost so many games that we shouldn't have lost," - Ginobili, May 2010
A couple of more months of play like this and you just might be required to find a new Manu quote to replace last year’s!
RJ2.0: vive la différence.
Wow. TD with a triple double. Manu with extra craftiness. Blair with two jump set-shots and a mean dunk. RJ with three alley-oop dunks. Pop scheming to get TD assists with set plays. Neal showing off the runner. Ten players with a made FG. Thirteen steals against a “younger” and “quicker” team.
Fun, fun night. Twenty point victory playing very well though not error free.
Thank you SF Giants for an incredible 2010 season and painting the City orange & black!
You gotta bring ass to get ass.
If I was a Warrior fan, I would frame this as a case of costly mistakes. Too many free throws for the Spurs, too many turnovers for the Ws… throughout the game and in capsule in the fourth quarter.
For the Spurs it’s just one more piece of evidence that this team is playing at a juggernaut level… winning all four quarters and keeping it out of reach. Like a few other teams in the NBA right now the Spurs are hard to hang with over forty-eight minutes, especially if you’re a mediocre ball club. That’s a good trait to keep going over a long season.
GSW opponents average more makes currently than GSW attempts at the moment. So they have some work to do.
What an amazine stat. When you’re giving up a higher number of makes than you can even shoot, it’s time to go back to the drawing board.
RJ2.0: vive la différence.
For the Warriors, not just the mistakes. Lack of effort on the defensive end of the floor and in transition. On another blog, someone pointed out that on one of the first Spurs’ fast breaks, the one that RJ had a dunk (?), Blair triggered the break from the paint and STILL beat the G.S. guards down the floor. I’ll have to watch the game again just for that.

If I had to chuck all of the stats in the world, and look at one to see how the Spurs rated among all NBA teams, point differential would be mine.
It’s simply otstanding to be leading that category.
RJ2.0: vive la différence.
Well they do say that point differential is the best indicator of a team’s potential to win.
I’m not so sure… the Heat have/had a pretty good one.

RJ 2.0’s alley-oop makes are great, but to be honest, I was not as enamored with his ‘bronco-busting’ ride as many here at PtR seemed to be.
But what I did like about the play (aside from the make)? Dice and Hill running in and pushing thru the white jerseys that were surrounding their guy. Two players who seem so calm, friendly, and so… well, nice, willing to risk technicals, injury, etc. for their teammate. The Spurs are most definitely a team.

You think RJ2.0 meant to do that to Lee? I think he just lost sight of him, and believe that his initial reaction backs this theory up.
RJ2.0: vive la différence.
Yeah, but is it really necessary to hang like that on the rim? I have never dunked and players might like to stay on the rim to make sure they can land safely. I dont know.
"If an expert says it can't be done, get another expert"
- DBG
If you watch it in real time, RJ 2.0 didn’t hang on the rim very long. And as an alternative to crashing to the floor after an alley-oop, yes, I’d rather players hang onto the rim for a second so they can get their feet under them before letting go.

LE, RJ2.0 doesn’t really hang on the rim very often at all (nor did RJ1.0 for that matter) and usually just lets his hands pass by the rim as a follow through of his dunking motion when he’s not being challenged. On this play you can see that he knew a player was close by, and I think he hung to be sure that there would be time for Lee to clear and space for him to come down.
RJ2.0: vive la différence.
Oh, not at all. It looked accidental to me, especially in real time. He let go of the rim and realized too late that he wouldn’t be able to avoid Lee.
And I think Lee made it worse — at least in terms of media and Internet viral attention — by reacting the way he did. Without the post-play confrontation, it would’ve been quickly forgotten about or discounted as one of things that sometimes happens in games. But his reaction made it attention-worthy, and now they’ll be tons of reminders for him on the TV and web.
