For me, other than Duncan’s triple double, the most impressive stat is we scored 118 while shooting ONLY 33% from 3.

Even more impressive, the Spurs only made 7 triples, I believe two under their average per game.

Surprised that RJ 2.0 was the only starter with a negative plus-minus (-5). Actually, he and Splitter were the only Spurs with negative plus-minuses… and I felt both played pretty well.

All Warriors players had negative plus-minus values… that’s domination.

What I just don’t like in him is that sometimes he’s forcing the issue once he gets the offensive board and this leads to a block against him or a turnover. The better thing to do is just kick out the ball and setup a play because the team has a fresh shot clock. Just my two cents..

If I was a Warrior fan, I would frame this as a case of costly mistakes. Too many free throws for the Spurs, too many turnovers for the Ws… throughout the game and in capsule in the fourth quarter.

For the Spurs it’s just one more piece of evidence that this team is playing at a juggernaut level… winning all four quarters and keeping it out of reach. Like a few other teams in the NBA right now the Spurs are hard to hang with over forty-eight minutes, especially if you’re a mediocre ball club. That’s a good trait to keep going over a long season.

For the Warriors, not just the mistakes. Lack of effort on the defensive end of the floor and in transition. On another blog, someone pointed out that on one of the first Spurs’ fast breaks, the one that RJ had a dunk (?), Blair triggered the break from the paint and STILL beat the G.S. guards down the floor. I’ll have to watch the game again just for that.

RJ 2.0’s alley-oop makes are great, but to be honest, I was not as enamored with his ‘bronco-busting’ ride as many here at PtR seemed to be.

But what I did like about the play (aside from the make)? Dice and Hill running in and pushing thru the white jerseys that were surrounding their guy. Two players who seem so calm, friendly, and so… well, nice, willing to risk technicals, injury, etc. for their teammate. The Spurs are most definitely a team.

You think RJ2.0 meant to do that to Lee? I think he just lost sight of him, and believe that his initial reaction backs this theory up.

Yeah, but is it really necessary to hang like that on the rim? I have never dunked and players might like to stay on the rim to make sure they can land safely. I dont know.

If you watch it in real time, RJ 2.0 didn’t hang on the rim very long. And as an alternative to crashing to the floor after an alley-oop, yes, I’d rather players hang onto the rim for a second so they can get their feet under them before letting go.

LE, RJ2.0 doesn’t really hang on the rim very often at all (nor did RJ1.0 for that matter) and usually just lets his hands pass by the rim as a follow through of his dunking motion when he’s not being challenged. On this play you can see that he knew a player was close by, and I think he hung to be sure that there would be time for Lee to clear and space for him to come down.

Oh, not at all. It looked accidental to me, especially in real time. He let go of the rim and realized too late that he wouldn’t be able to avoid Lee.

And I think Lee made it worse — at least in terms of media and Internet viral attention — by reacting the way he did. Without the post-play confrontation, it would’ve been quickly forgotten about or discounted as one of things that sometimes happens in games. But his reaction made it attention-worthy, and now they’ll be tons of reminders for him on the TV and web.

The last gif is just too funny
