Balanced Scoring=Spurs’ key to success

If by balanced you mean 2 for Splitter and 0 for Blair?…

Hey, if posting a sharp, insightful, yet non-sarcastic comment were that easy, even olf would do it.

Hahaha…I mean Neal and Jefferson stepping up outside of the Big Three.

I would most DEFINITELY like to see Blair and Hill step up and contribute. I have high hopes for Splitter too but can understand if he needs time to adjust.

We are a dangerous team if we can hit the threes and the big three playing well so as the other guys.

Not sure if this is a good or bad thing, but RJ is the most consistent Spur so far. A mix of both probably.

by grego21 on Nov 2, 2010 12:16 AM CDT up reply actions

I think it’s a good thing… The Big Three will each have their individual nights so we’ll need that consistancy from someone.
I was hoping it’d be DeBeast or Gregarious George but Rage works just as well for me. I’m glad to see that both Rage and James “The Mitten” Anderson are embracing their defensive roles.

'Offensive rebounding' is a gross understatement of DeJuan Blair's skill. It is far beyond 'offensive' and should be qualified as 'Get The Hell Out of My Way Or I'll Tear Your Arms Off and Eat Your Babies' rebounding.

by Iullaby on Nov 2, 2010 2:07 AM CDT up reply actions

I said that semi-jokingly. The bad is both Hill and Blair, 2 fans had high hope on have kind of went the other way. I guess Blair would be the more surprising since his preseason was strong. With that said, it should be noted that the majority of those games were against teams in the preseason and not all of it transfers as well.

But I guess both can be said to be pressing way too much.

Funny how the biggest worry, the 3 spot is looking as one of the strongest parts.

by grego21 on Nov 3, 2010 12:20 AM CDT up reply actions

Not just the most consistent, but also the most efficient. Quite the turnaround.

by doggydogworld on Nov 2, 2010 8:42 AM CDT up reply actions

Yeah, I’m very proud of him. In a sense this fixes the Spurs front office, because they re-signed him and gave him a fair deal and it seems to be paying off. In the long run, that trade might be one of their better deals once again….

by grego21 on Nov 3, 2010 12:18 AM CDT up reply actions

well it was balanced because 5 players had 14-19 points. blair had foul trouble and it was spliters first game so im sure they will improve on that

The beautiful thing about Splitter’s dunk is Manu’s pass inside that made it possible.

I’m more impressed with the pass Tiago made as he was falling out of bounds to Temple behind the arc that led to one extra pass to Neal and a triple.

Clippers are in cocoon stage, hopefully a decent team will emerge someday. Blake Griffin is a monster and Eric Gordon the Olympian is no slouch either.

This is the rookie game for sure. Splitter sees action, Neal comes out and torches the joint, Anderson is making progress. A win is great but a win from your rooks is especially gratifying.

Bad foul, and deserved ejection. Looks to me like he got the timing wrong… seems like he kind of pulled out once he’d made contact with the head (and not the ball).

Welcome Gary Neal! This is why we brought you in keep hit those 3s!!!
I think this is a great sign. All of the big 3 don’t have to light it up (last year if one of the big 3 was off one of the others had to go off to make up for it and here they didn’t) and our shooters are hitting, RJ looks good. I know its just the clippers but splitter, blair, timmy will all be better then this most nights, not to mention hill knocked out of game and bonner not even in it. manu and tony looked really good without having to take over completely.

Again just the clippers but over all this looked good

by spurs fan on Nov 2, 2010 10:39 AM CDT reply actions

One of the things I liked about Neal was that he showed his game was more than just standing out behind the 3 point line waiting for a chance at an open 3, he can create his own shot.

by Alamo on Nov 2, 2010 11:29 AM CDT up reply actions

He’s just a scorer, with a strong shooting sense. To me that’s what makes him different from just a shooter.
