Spurs considered Captain Jack!?
According to the weekend dime at espn: Sources told ESPN.com that San Antonio flirted with reacquiring the playoff-tested Jackson during the offseason ... and that Brown didn't oppose Jackson's departure. If that's not a sufficient hint, multiple sources consulted this week told ESPN.com that Wallace is generally regarded as Charlotte's only untouchable.
That would have been interesting. Was this the backup plan if Jefferson did not resign?

Interesting. Article doesn’t make it clear if it was early in the off-season (which would go along with your backup plan idea), or later, after RJ committed to the workouts that turned him into RJ 2.0 (which would make a Jackson flirtation a different matter).
Another Spurs tidbit in your link:
After clearing waivers Monday, Garrett Temple’s earnings through the first seven games of San Antonio’s season will count for just over $105,000 on the Spurs’ payroll, leaving them $875,720 under the luxury-tax threshold. Which leaves sufficient room beneath the tax line for a minimum-salaried replacement if the Spurs elect to bring in another player (since rookie swingman James Anderson was lost for up to two months with a stress fracture in his right foot).
Though I doubt that anyone available for the minimum would be a better backup 3 than who is currently available on the roster, it’s worth considering.
Hey, if posting a sharp, insightful, yet non-sarcastic comment were that easy, even olf would do it.

I read this article too. I’m not opposed to bringing Jackson back. We have absolutely nothing to trade, though. Any ideas?

Wasn’t there a time during this summer that some here were willing to trade (or not re-sign) RJ or TP?
I guess an 8-1 start changes things a little. lol

Spot on freshtuna. Now RJ is seen as a demi-god and people have warmed up to Parker because his passing has improved and his scoring is not far behind.

I agree trading any of the big three and now that we have seen RJ 2.0 to get Jackson would not be worth it. If you asked me at the end of last season I would have been all for trading RJ for him but watching RJ play this year, he brings exactly what we need. The hustle on defense has been admirable and the aggressive attacking on offense and confident jump shooting has been just what the doctor ordered
Add another voice to the chorus – I’d love to see Capt. Jack back in black, but getting him would probably be too costly. RJ’s put in too much work and improved too much for Pop to send him back to an east bottom-feeder, and we’re definitely not getting rid of any of the Big 3 to get him.
chaos... panic... pandemonium... my work here is done.
This rumor smells like BS. Whatever the truth of it, the teams play (mainly RJ) has made this a moot point. Then there is the issue of Jacksons contract.
