I’m pretty sure the 7 wins all came against teams with losing records, the loss against the one team with a winning record. The schedule gets tougher for a while now, but now Tiago looks ready to play.

Yes. And Blair and Hill looked better tonight, more decisive, in control, and confident. Even Bonner looked like he didn’t have too much rust to work off (except for the redness in his hair, of course).

I would have preferred 8-0, though 7-1 is great. Through the first couple of months of last season the Spurs beat every team that wound in the lottery, but in the first 8 games faced 5 playoff teams. I’m hoping they finish 80-1.

nice first gif CD… great fake drive to get his defender off balance by Manu. I was going to say that the defender should have respected the three, but he also had to respect the Argentine’s ability to drive to the basket. Tough choice.

But with Phily first we at least guarantee 1 win out of 2.
The way we are playing, I like our chances of beating OKC, but Durant and Westbrook will probably combine for at least 70 against RJ and TP.

No, Anderson is out for 8 weeks with a stress fracture in his foot.
Gee didn’t play much until the fourth when we were up over 30, so I’m guessing that we’ll see more Neal (7 boards in almost 24 minutes) and/or three-guard lineups with TP/Manu/Hill when RJ 2.0 is resting.

by freshtunarightofftheboat on Nov 13, 2010 10:11 PM CST up reply actions

If KD gets Jefferson in foul trouble early, I think Pop has to play Gee. We don’t want to put Manu on him. Neal and Parker will be too small. Hill could hassle him with his length but KD will just shoot up and over all of them. I predict a 40 point night from him. Man I miss Anderson already.

Might be interesting to see what would happen if Tiago tried to defend him, with Tim behind him for when Durant inevitably drives past him.

by Alamo on Nov 13, 2010 10:30 PM CST up reply actions

Though I don’t relish the prospect of having TD chase KD around the court, I think Tiago as the help defender guarding the rim might be the better scheme. He did a man’s job today, taking charges, altering shots, etc. and could be more effectively used that way rather than in a one-on-one situation vs. Durant.

Or maybe we could let Bonner chase KD around? j/k

Holy cow, Spurs starters’ +/- all 20 or more. Nice to see Blair and Hill have breakout games, also all those minutes by the reserves. With Bonner back and playing all (?) of the 4th, and Splitter’s PT going up, Dice only had to play a tad over seven-and-a-half minutes, despite Timmy resting the entire fourth quarter.
