rj did not score 2 or miss 10 shots,
tim didn’t have a double double,
blair didnt have a 20-20
manu didnt shoot 10 threes,

but we won the game. can we play the clippers 82 times a year?

Blair can’t wait for this game. This is a game where he should be able to beat up on the big men.

by grego21 on Nov 2, 2010 12:03 AM CDT up reply actions

Yeah, but I’m worried about him trying to keep up with Turkeyglue.

I’m afraid that Beast is doing too much.He should be back to the Blair that we all love, can someone please tell him that!

Hedo’s not as fast as he used to be. I think from a team standpoint, the Spurs should be better. Might get burned from time to time, but Hedo hasn’t worked as hard as he did since his Orlando days. We’ll see soon enough.

Blair will sit his comfy pillow steel train on Hedo’s behind like he did with Harry Potter in this game, but Hedo won’t take it as Griffin did. :)

I gave the star to both of them in the preview, FYI.

A moral victory for the Clippers since Tim played in the 4th Quarter this game.

by Alamo on Nov 2, 2010 12:02 AM CDT reply actions

Parker 19 & 9 on 50% shooting. Almost perfect if he had like 2 less turnovers.

by grego21 on Nov 2, 2010 12:02 AM CDT reply actions

and one or two fewer bad passes, and one less bone-headed play.

But overall, I’m happy with our latest signee. :)

I think he should be fine. He had a muscle strain which is better than what it could have been.

by grego21 on Nov 2, 2010 12:06 AM CDT up reply actions

Almost forgot he got hurt. Hopefully he won’t miss any games.

by quincyscott on Nov 2, 2010 12:06 AM CDT up reply actions

I don’t think they would have been moving his head around in all those awkward positions if they thought it was anything serious.

by quincyscott on Nov 2, 2010 12:07 AM CDT up reply actions

Gary Neal’s shot is really sweet. It just tickles the bottom of the net as it’s going through. And he does not need much room or time to get it off. I think this guy can contribute.

by quincyscott on Nov 2, 2010 12:06 AM CDT reply actions

Have to get this out of the way. He already has a sweeter shot than RMJ. It just looks smoother.

by grego21 on Nov 2, 2010 12:06 AM CDT up reply actions

It certainly does. He could become a valuable role player and contributor to the team. When looking at the box scores at the end of a game, I always look for an even distribution in points scored among the players. We definitely had that tonight. RJ and Neal both contributed outside of the Big Three. That’s a step up from years past.

The question is, and has always been, can they do it in the playoffs?

next game is phoenix, we’ll get a preview perhaps

by RamblingSpur on Nov 2, 2010 12:12 AM CDT up reply actions

The biggest difference is Neal’s done this stuff in Europe, which is a good start. This is why he’s so well composed already.

by grego21 on Nov 2, 2010 12:13 AM CDT up reply actions

Yes, we a re getting ahead of ourselves, but in the long run that’s all that counts. Making shots when you have to make them. Only time will tell that. (But as far as Neal is concerned, I would be willing to bet that he will make playoff shots. He shoots without any hesitation whatsoever. No conscience, if you know what I mean.)

by quincyscott on Nov 2, 2010 12:15 AM CDT up reply actions

We might be getting ahead of ourselves, but this has to happen if the Spurs are to win another championship. The big 3 will have to bring theirs, but those role players will all have to have those certain special moments. It’s just got to happen to reach that top level.

by grego21 on Nov 2, 2010 1:39 AM CDT up reply actions

Agreed. It shows we are sharing the ball, and running some semblance of an offense. There are guys on this team who can score. Hell, Bonner was not even in the lineup tonight, and their perimeter shooting did not suffer at all.

by quincyscott on Nov 2, 2010 12:12 AM CDT up reply actions

please, no more comparisons to RMJ…. let’s not jinx the poor guy.

It hits the net and not the rim for it to bounce to the net.

Guys, Tony’s offense is right on schedule. 17 and 7 so far on 50% shooting. Turnovers and Defense could be better, but we’re nitpicking, right?

by greyberger on Nov 2, 2010 12:08 AM CDT reply actions

Definitely had the teardrop going to full effect, and attacked the basket aggressively. The Spurs are so much harder to defend when that is happening.
