Who /what did you see last night that surprised you? The Spurs played everyone on the bench except McDyess and Gee; Splitter was injured (?).
What:
I was surprised that Gee didn’t get in. I wasn’t surprised the McDyess sat. I was surprised that RJ played so much, until I read CompleteDeck post and I agree with the comments about the new RJ playing in game situations to see what the summer has changed.
Who:
Cousin…who was that tall man who was able to leap tall building??? He didn’t look that good in the open practice. I was also surprised with the minutes he played, 25. He was on the floor more than anyone except RJ. 4 of 9 shooting and 2 0f 2 from the line isn’t bad. 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 assist, and 1 steal with only 3 fouls. I think he showcased himself well; definitely the Toros if not one of the last spots on the team.
Anderson…if only because he didn’t get much time. I don’t believe we saw him until the last third quarter. He only shot twice while he was in there and made one of them.
Hill…Shots would not fall. If this was his first year, he would have had trouble making the Toros after that showing.
Penney…why did he get so many minutes? In my heart I was pulling for him, But with all the new folks to look at, why give him such and extended viewing? I thought he was only average.
Temple…liked him last year, he showed a lot. Last night I thought he was lacking.
I didn’t cover everyone; I will let you expose the folks you think need it.
