We don't think about whether you're being respected or disrespected or forgotten about or thought about, because I think everybody is very mature and realizes that that's all irrelevant. All that matters is if you win or not, so we pretty much have concentrated on that for a long, long time now. That will just continue. We don't really care.
— Coach Pop, to Fanhouse.com, 'on whether the unprecedented hype around the Heat might inspire anyone in Silver and Black.'
Classic Pop.... ya gotta love him.
There's a lot more to this article, including interviews with RC and Manu. One thing that I thought was interesting is that it's article that doesn't say the Spurs are 'too old' to win... few articles do anymore, as the youth movement in San Antonio seems to have taken care of that. The new press 'story' on the Spurs seems to be: They're trying to keep the championship window open for one more season by adding new bodies around the core, and are in the hunt, though facing long odds. I guess that keeps the writers from looking too stupid should the Spurs pull it together one more time. :)
