This is a must read. It gives so much insight into Marcus Williams, Pop, and Coach Snyder. I liked his stories of sharing a locker or locker space with Bowen. You always assume that the Spurs players are great in the locker room and to rookies, but its really great to hear it from the young guys themselves. Other things I really liked where is tenacity in wanting to defend both Parker and RJ in camp along with his comments about playing with Brent Barry.
It’ll be interesting if we ever get to see Hairston, Mahinmi, and Williams all on the court together with their chemistry.
Add Blair(or Haislip) and Hill to that mix, and I love our young, athletic bench unit.

I’m amazed at how underappreciated our depth/bench really is. I honestly see the Spurs as the deepest team in the NBA. Give or take, I’ve got us counted at about 9 deep. It’s a shame, but probably, as usual, a blessing in disguise that other fans and critics do not see past our Big 3.
"If you think Tony Parker is better than Manu Ginobili, you need to stop drinking before you come in here." - Charles Barkley, to Kenny Smith.
Hill and the three from the D-League area all familiar with the Spurs system from their experience with the organization. RJ, Dice, and Ratliff are all experienced veterans. Mason has a year under his belt now. The ball will run through the big three on most plays. There are a lot of factors working for the success of our role players and bench this year.
Yeah, his stories were cool (pun intended), except people knew that Brent can handle the ball. The real question is: Did he dunk during pickup games?

I dont mean to be a negative nancy, but Marcus Williams strikes me as a body to be utilized meaningfully only in the event Manu, Mason and George Hill all get injured.
I dont buy for one second that Marcus can run the Point, or defend point guards….
How dare you question our blind enthusiasm for someone who may or may not be a poing forward?

This is one of those perfect comments that come along every so often and make me glad to be alive.
Part of me wants to analyze it, pick it apart and see what makes it tick. Then write a post about the perfection of it.
But today, I just let it wash over me and enjoy it in the moment. Experiencing it, rec’ing it, and … letting it pass.
Goodbye, comment du excellence, I hope to see your like again soon.

That was a great read, and I love the honesty on Marcus’ part. I’d be sad if he won’t get to see some meaningful minutes this season.
