I guess it would be the perfect time to unleash my massive, ambitious and epic part IV of my pictorial journey. Too bad I haven’t even started.

You should’ve posted at 09:09.09 AM on September 9, 2009.

A couple of months back, I missed the 12:34.56 PM on July 8. 2009 (123456789).

I’m never on time.

Wow… I never actually took time THAT seriously. But that would’ve been cool.

Now that I checked it, I posted at 8:08. An hour and a minute off… so close.

But i know you had your heart set on a cool date that went up incrementally by only one digit, silver.

So I created the following semi-cool date just for you…

4:56pm 7 sec 08/09/10.

Im kinda like god, or allen iverson.

Dont worry you still have plenty of time to catch the next special date

Thanks for nothing! Now I have to spend the next several weeks looking forward to twelve seconds after thirteen minutes past 2pm on November 10th, 2009.

As well as six seconds after seven minutes past eight o’clock on the same day.

Well, there’s also December 21, 2012 to look forward to. By then, Duncan will have resigned, and perhaps Pop too, so life wouldn’t be worth living anymore anyway.

If Duncan resigned — then that would be reason to celebrate! Resign = sign again. Nothing could stave off the end of the world like Timmeh deciding to keep playing.

Could you have meant retired?

According to Merriam-Webster and the Wikitionary:

Resign: To quit a job or position
Re-sign: To sign again; to provided one’s signature again

by LasEspuelas on Sep 9, 2009 12:28 PM CDT up reply actions

To sign again is either resign or re-sign, the hyphen is alternative and there are almost as many links showing it one way as the other. But that’s just semantics.

My point is that players don’t resign when they’re done playing, they retire.

True, the typical word used is retired. It also has a subtle difference in meaning. When one retires he does it because he is too old, while when one resigns he does not like his job or moves on to something better.

Dammit. I just resigned from my job a few months back (then I moved on to being a bum), which is probably why I still think of the word every now and then. But yes, “retire.” Dammit.

Can we just use “re-up” for a player who signs another contract after the present one expires? It’s slang and hip, perfect for today’s generation of one-on-one, 7 seconds or less basketball.

I never called you out on it, but one of your pictorial journeys had a title of “Hipuk’s Pictorial Journey” – which means that you actually referred to yourself as Hipuk.

by silverandblack_davis on Sep 10, 2009 5:05 AM CDT up reply actions

Ok, this is just too revealing. The singular Hipuk vs the plural “identity” of Hipuks combined with the fact that he replies to himself all the time added to the “Hipuk’s Pictorial Journey” (apparently only one of his multiple personalities is a photographer) — it all adds up.

Hipuks Hipuk, we’re here to help you. We’re your friends. Please don’t push us away.

I agree. I enjoyed it very much, but she freaks out with bugs, so the prawns grossed her out, plus some of the violence did too. I had to remind her that some of the crap in the movie Moon had some similarities to District 9. She stopped arguing there. :D

I better be earning lots of redeemable points, that’s for sure! Haha. Actually I do enjoy those types of movies so I can’t really complaint.

Besides, I have an excuse to take her to those other mindless/action flicks that I watch sometimes. All I have to say is “remember that movie we watched last time that YOU wanted to go to?” ;)

Win-win for me! w00t!
