Philippine Roll Call
I've been reading about some of the scary reports from the Phillipines after the tropical storm blew in. I hope the next one misses you and I hope all our Spurs friends are doing well.
Give us a shout out and let us know you're O.K.

Ondoy
Ondoy is what we Filipinos called the storm that just went by.
We’re okay and getting back on our feet – got a lot of friends who lost their homes and all that. Pretty reminiscent of hurricane Katrina down in NOLA.
Thanks for checking up on us – it was an encouragement to see and feel your concern!
Can’t wait to see the Spurs kick butt. OHYEH! LUPET! (Oh Yeah! Wicked!)
Glad to know you’re okay. Let us know how things develop.

Our place wasn’t hit that hard. Lots of rain, and momentary loss of internet connection. I’d accept donations though—as long as they’re chocolate and contain no nuts.
Honestly, a lot of other people need help. Three days, and I still haven’t heard from my friend, his wife and my godson. They live in Cainta (near a place called “Floodway,” which is pretty much on the banks of a river that overflowed). No electricity in their place, so cellphones are either useless or soaked, and phonelines are busted. I’ve been trying but I couldn’t contact them. Incidentally, and I’m not saying anything, but he’s a Lakers fan. I try to joke about it (cold, I concede), but I genuinely hope they’re okay.
Bob, if you can read this, don’t fuck with us. Message us if you’re okay. Message us that you’re okay.
Cainta pictures (not mine):

I hope my friend and his family aren’t in any of those.

WWTD?
Thanks ladies – for the post, bell, and Lauri for the link. Glad to know my fellow countrymen here are okay. As for me, here is our living room at around 7pm:

It was around 3-4 feet that time, and rose to as much as 5 feet. And this is my brother’s car, all muddied up and so not ready to go:

In general though, me and my family are doing good. A lot of people had it worse, so if you have something, anything to donate, just do it through the link Lauri provided. Maraming salamat! (Thanks a lot, in Filipino speak)

flood
Wow, didn’t realize the news here would reach so far. Thanks for the concern, guys :)
Pretty bleak mood here in Manila, but there’s a spirit of volunteerism like we’ve never seen before (people skipping work to help neighbors, strangers helping strangers, Filipinos from all over the world donating money, etc.). So at least there’s 1 positive in this disaster.
Reading Spurs news gets me real excited, and is what keeps me going!! haha so keep them posts coming!
hey homies…the pics are insane. i’ve contacted my relatives there and thank god they are ok physically. mentally i dunno.
i donated to unicef here
i'm sure the other link posted is great, but
