Around SBN: VIDEO: Austin Rivers' Buzzer Beater Finishes Off UNC

The skinny: Incredible work by GM R.C. Buford to retool a still-good team and make it a contender again. The Jefferson deal is this offseason's version of the Gasol Heist of '08; with RJ on the floor the Spurs aren't held hostage by Manu Ginobili's deteriorating body parts -- though a healthy Manu is the key to a potential title run. Bad knees or not, Blair was a great second-round pickup, and McDyess classes up any locker room.

We've heard it already, but it still sounds good to me! :-)

Good article but the following sentence makes no sense:

The defending champions lost nothing and gained Ron Artest, getting younger, deeper and more talented

He seems to have forgotten that they lost Ariza who was quite a bit younger and more athletic than Artest. What makes them deeper? Their draft picks? Does he think Adam Morrison is going to play?

"The evolution has been good, and I am much more tranquil now in the face of what comes next,"--Manu Ginobili

Yeah, I’m not really sure how swapping Artest for Ariza makes them younger or deeper. I don’t think they added anybody else.

We specialize in misinformation around here. Facts and stats just get in the way.

If I start parsing the errors in this column I’ll still be here tomorrow morning.

But I like that he put SA first.

Yes. And he lost me almost immediately thereafter.

From the article:

In grading each team’s offseason, the financial divide has to be taken into account. The Lakers simply have more money than a lot of teams, which makes their offseason that much easier.

Aw now, don’t hate us because we’re beautiful (or I guess I should say rich).

Don’t worry, olf. There’s numerous reasons to hate the Lakers! ;-)

And all I’m just saying be creative. Don’t go for the tired old reasons like we’re rich, beautiful or because as the article says: “L.A.’s championship window is wide open.”

Oops!

“And all I’m just saying be creative.” – “all” = “And I’m just saying be creative.”

Can you describe it one more time. I think I’m almost there.

To be more clear I should have said “Please ignore the word ‘all’ in my post above. It is not supposed to be there.”
